Vehicle Detail
Hey Datsun Fans! Re-listing, another opportunity to own this rare Nissan Truck!! Lowered reserve!! For your consideration is this vintage and very rare Nissan Bushmaster.. Have you ever seen one of these?? Did you know they even existed? I've been around vintage Datsuns for a long time, and somehow never knew these were built, so naturally when I found it, it had to come home with me. Its built from a 1985 Nissan 720 King Cab 4x4.. Nissan Commissioned Matrix (a company that modifies new cars) to build a few of these early SUV's they dubbed "Bushmaster". I believe they were only built in 85, maybe 84.. I have a friend that sold new Datsun/Nissan's in the 80's and he thought there were only about a dozen built.. Im guessing there was more than that, but.. I dont know! There is not a lot of info on them you can google.. This is the predecessor to the Pathfinder, built on the existing 720 body. I encourage you to look at this truck, ask any questions before bidding.. I live 10-15 minutes from the Salt Lake Airport, and am willing to pick you up, run you out to my house for a preview.. $500 paypal deposit is due within 24 hours, close of auction, and balance to be paid via wire transfer or cash within 5 days, close of auction.. Reserve is very reasonable.. So, bid to own this amazing vintage Datsun/Nissan truck.. Ok, on to the details. Body Condition: In a word... AMAZING!! Every time I look at this truck, I simply cant believe how straight and rust free it is.. It still wears its original paint.. I see no evidence of a previous accident or bodywork of any kind. This was a one owner AZ truck up until last year when the guy I bought it from found it at a Church of some sort... It seems it must have been garaged most of the time.. It is virtually rust free. What little surface rust it does have, I photographed.. and it is only very superficial.. You are not going to push through ANYWHERE on this vehicle.. Floors look nearly new, bottom of doors are beautiful, tailgate looks better than most newer trucks.. Paint has lost some luster, but still shines! Body panels are factory fit, perfect. Interior: The interior is original, or original Matrix, not sure, but it matches and looks correct. The drivers seat frame is broken at the side, its still all there and may possibly be welded.. I wanted to put some new mid 90s 4runner seats in it. Carpets are all there, and would benefit from a steam clean. Tailgate carpet does exist, just not on it. Dash has sun damage (see pic). Headliner was falling down, and previous owner removed it, as foam particles were blowing around. He did try to remove it carefully to pattern it, and I do have the headliner rods. Backseat is positioned pretty far back, making it roomy for an adult.. It also folds and tumbles. All accessories work, with the exception of washer fluid pump and speedometer needle is loose or broken, odometer is still working correctly. Doors and windows operate correctly, vehicle locks up with its original key! Rear opening, tailgate is missing handle (opens by pulling linkage) and upper back hatch has been replaced with lexan or plexiglass and needs one hatch support put on.. Comes with a few spare parts, and a lot of its original documentation and service history. Mechanically: I have only driven this home and around the neighborhood a few times.. The motor sounds healthy to me.. No bad noises, no smoke. Runs below the middle of the gauge (temp). Starts right up. I think it could benefit from a tune up though. Brakes, clutch, steering, transmission, transfercase, all seem to be in great working condition. Shocks seem a bit worn. It does have A/C and seems to be working! Running lights all work. Tires are showing evidence of AZ sun, and I would not recommend driving on them. Previous owner told me at random when it was warmed up, it would die.. and it is necessary to wait for it to cool down before it will start again. He thought it needed a ignition module, and I concur.. based on what he said. He did give me a used ign module with it.. I have not been able to duplicate the problem ( I have not driven it much though), and have not put the used part in... So, thats what I know! Serious buyers, please read the ad again, study the pics and ask ANY questions BEFORE bidding! Thanks, and good luck!!On Oct-27-11 at 14:17:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I just dropped the reserve to $2,000!!! Come on Datsun fans, when will you have the chance to buy one of these again? Look at those pics close, this thing is crazy clean!! looks just as clean in person!! Ask questions, and bid to own this!!Jason
