Vehicle Detail

This one is for the station wagon fan or Pontiac lover, it's a 1972 Pontiac Grand Safari 455 9 passenger wagon. This is a great car for the classic wagon lover, big block lover, or anyone who just wants one of the coolest cars on the planet. This car is all original and pretty well kept. It was owned by a small lawn mower repair man here in Florida for years. It has tons of documentation including the owners manuals, build sheets, warranty booklet, and a ton of repair receipts dating back to the the 70's. This car was built with the following options per the build sheet;Tinted glass, power windows, 6 way power seat, bench seat, l/flr carpet, body side moldings, rear quarter lower moldings, side window reveal molding, wheel opening molding, power operated tailgate, manual AC, rear door jamb switches, remote control mirror, 3.08 axle ratio, superlift shocks, limited slip differential, custom trim pads, L78X15 tires, cruise control, HD air cleaner, 455 4BBL engine, 3spd automatic, Std exh system, Dlx steering wheel, dlx wheel discs, HD battery, Glove box lamp, AM/FM stereo radio, rear speakers, bumper strips, roof luggage carrier, and rally gauge cluster. This car is still as built with all of it's original components except the radio has been replaced along with the speakers. It also has a trailer hitch and wiring installed. Here is a video of the car including a test drive and the operating electric tailgate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUYsLCn3GlE Here is a description of the car in and out as I see it. ExteriorAppears to have no accident or paint work, the hood and both front fenders need to be repainted. There is some rust in the wheel openings and on the passenger front fender that can all be easily repaired. The frame and floors are rock solid. There is also a few rust bubbles in the drip rails but none have gone through. The bumpers are nice, so is the grill and glass (tinted). Nice original hubcaps, tires are brand new, and it has dual exhausts! Overall I would rate the exterior a 7 out of 10. InteriorThe interior is in decent shape for it's age. The power seat works, the door panels are good, both rear seats are near perfect, The carpet needs to be replaced, the headliner sags a little. The dash is nice, the power windows work but the switches get a little sticky at times. It has what I would consider normal wear and tear for a 39 year old wagon. There is a tear in the drivers side of the front bench seat. Overall I would rate the interior a 6 out of 10.MechanicalIt fires right up and idles strong, the transmission shifts perfect, the steering is nice and tight, and it rides like a dream. The tires are like new and the car has been well kept through the years. It has some minor fluid leaks and I can hear a vacuum leak in the cruise control servo but for a 39 year old car it runs great and has plenty of power. Mechanically I would rate it a 8 out of 10. OverallThis is a very rare wagon with the respect that it was used as a wagon and well kept. It's a true survivor. It has one of the coolest wagon tailgates in automotive history, a big block engine, and a look that is just plain cool! This car is usuable as is and would make a great rat rod, advertising tool or even shown as a survivor for you Pontiac purists. The previous owner made some modifications to it such as; bypassed the tailgate switches and installed his own, he also mounted front speakers to the dash. It's a very cool car. Everyone that has seen this car, loves it.I am offering this car at no reserve and it is sold as is. Here is a list of exactly what I am aware of that is wrong with the car. Some minor rust as mentioned above (easy fix)some minor fluids leaks (none of them require immediate attention)tailgate switches were bypassed by former owner (he installed better ones)AC doesn't work (freon leak)some of the moldings on the side fell off (included with the auction)tear in drivers seat, needs carpet, etc. as mentioned aboveIncluded with the saleA box including the side moldings that fell offAll of the receipts and documentation I have for the carA clear Florida titleIf you have any questions about this car, please email me or for faster response you can call me directly at 941-720-0300. Again, this is a no reserve auction, I will not end it early, there is no buy it now price! You just don't see these wagons like this anymore, especially without woodgrain and with a 455 engine. This is a rare opportunity to own a great piece of American history!Happy bidding!!
