Vehicle Detail
The Good: Nice looking, nice driving older restoration with 67,000 original miles 348 ci rebuilt factory-correct V-8 with 4-barrel carburetor Turboglide AT, PS, PB, Radio, Power Top, even a tissue dispenser! The Bad: Wipers and clock not working, a few paint knicks (see photo), and missing the right side dash pad (see photo) The Ugly: There is no "ugly" with a 1961 Chev. This is a nice-looking driver, not national show level, but very nice.On Oct-22-11 at 11:13:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Information on Numbers: In the questions below, I was asked about matching numbers so I did some further research and found this: The block casting number is F2260, the manifold casting number is E2660, and the stamped block assembly code is TO711H. (Tonowanda July 11 8 cyl 250 hp w/ Turboglide and 4 BC). This means the engine was built 5 months prior to the car assembly date of December 1960, so it could be original, matching , and correct. In my earlier answer I stated that the assembly code said the engine was built July 11, 1961, but the code does not specifiy the year. The caution is that normally only a 1 to 3 month lag exists between the engine build date and the car build date. You be the judge. Thank you.
