Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a REAL 1969 OLDS 442. This car sports a rebuilt 455 motor from the boys at Kerslake Brother Machine shop who specifically build race motors. I have the receipt which totals over $3,300 dollars. The motor is backed by a rebuilt Turbo 400 which was done by the guys at ATS Transmission shop for $1,200 dollars. The drivetrain on this car is brand new. Starter, alternator, MSD electronic ignition, Mallory Distributor, new plugs and wires are all NEW. The body on this car is SOLID. No rust what so ever! Floor boards and trunk are in great shape and are extremely solid. Car was then sent to the bodyshop where it was fine tuned and made to be straight like every black car should be. It has Duponts, Ultra Jet Black paint, in a Basecoat/Clearcoat combo. Car was then color sanded, compound buffed, then finished off with polish. Car looks amazing in any light, from any angle. Looking into the paint, is like looking into a mirror. Two rally stripes where added and they are straight and show nicely. The inside of this car is CLEAN! Black bucket seats, a center console, a new rug and headliner have been installed. Original door panels show very nice and the dash is crack free. Lights work, brake lites work, heater works as well as wipers. Not a highly optioned car, but shows and drives well. Brakes work well but are all drums. You hit the brakes and you stop straight, NO strong pulls to either side when brake pedal is applied. As for the engine compartment, its stock looking, but has had the W-30 Ram Air intake system added. Not cheap by any means. Ram Air intakes are mounted in correct location and are solidly mounted. Underhood insulation finishes off the detail to the engine bay. Car is not a true W-30, but no one will no the difference unless you tell them. Trunk is SOLID and very clean. Finished off in the proper Black and Aqua splatter paint, then clear coated to prevent lifting or smearing. Under carriage has been pressure washed and undercoated for weatherproofing purposes. Clean underneath the car, not a mud basket of filth. Both bumpers have been straightened and rechromed by the guys at Big D's Chrome Plating and are triple plated. These bumpers are in SHOW condition, no flaws or weridness. Straight and super shiny. Finishing off the look of the car is a fresh set of 15 inch BFG's 245/60/15's. New chrome trim rings and good center caps finish off the correct stock look. The car sports the proper flared exhaust tips that shoot out from the properly unique rear bumper only for 442's. All chrome trim on car is nice but not show. I do have the majority of the side chrome for the car, but Im missing the driver side spear. I will include all extra chrome pieces of trim with the sale of car. Also the car has a NEW 4-spoke steering wheel and shows nicely, no pitting or fading. I have tried to be as honest and as descriptive as I possible can on this car. There are only a few minor imperfections on the car. The wiper motor just stopped wiping yesterday, motor looks original for the car. Needs both the rear reverse light buckets replaced, they are kinda crusty from old age as well as the front turn signal sockets. Center console it out of a 1970 so its not correct for this year. This car is not a SHOW car, but rather a great driver quality car. I dont want anyone to be mislead by what your bidding on. PLEASE ask questions to me or the mechanic's shop who worked on this car. Dave Matchett will answer to the best of his abilties on the condition on the car. He runs Eastside Auto Care and their phone number is 425-861-7777. He is a busy man who runs his shop, but im sure he might take the time to chat with you about the runability of this car. As with any sale, the car comes in As Is condition with no expressed warrenty. I will send any photos of any angle of the car for who ever wishes more photos. I will answer ALL questions in a timely manner and would enjoy chatting on the phone with anyone, anywhere to the condition of the car. 425-454-6629. My name is Mike and welcome anyone to fly in and see the car. Seeing is believing, but I will do my best to make anyone who is interested in purchasing the car, to have a most enjoyable time doing so. Thanks for viewing my listing and have a great day.On Oct-19-11 at 13:55:29 PDT, seller added the following information:HELLO Ebayers, I have been getting alot of questions on WHY a car that SOLD a week ago is now back on ebay. SIMPLE. I had a out of country buyer from Germany, who bid up my other car and won my 442. Turns out the bidder was the teenage son of the parents who had the ebay account. When he WON the car, the next day his parent emailed me and informed me that their son was spending TOO much money and they were going to have to back out of the deal. Honestly folks, I think that if that happens, Ebay should have to buy the cars and finish the transaction and never let that buyer bid ever again. Am I wrong to say that? How mad would you be if you went to bed thinking both you SOLD both your cars and then come to find out the next day that both your cars needed to be refunded cause of someone child bid when they shouldnt have. Thats a lame excuse in my book. PLEASE if your interested in BUYING these cars, please EMAIL me or CALL me and I would be glad to talk your ear off about each of these cars. Last thing I want is someone to purchase a car and then get bent out of shape about it because they didnt spend 5 mintues calling me or emailing me for a better description about some thing I didnt mention in my ad. I would be glad to send more photos, more information or let you talk to the mechanic who services all my cars prior to selling. Also this is NOT a real W-30. I purchased the W-30 Ram Air system off the internet. Thus making this a W-30 recreation. I dont want anyone getting misinformed about that. Thanks for the questions and PLEASE ask more if your interested. Im here for you if you need reassurence on each car I sell, day or night. Thank you.
