THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A REAL “NO EXCUSES” W30. THERE ARE PLENTY OF 442 CLONES AND WISHFUL W30 WANNABES BUT THERE ARE VERY FEW ACTUAL DOCUMENTED 442 W30 CARS, AND EVEN FEWER THAT ARE SO WELL PRESERVED AND CARED FOR. THE CAR HAS THE APPEARANCE OF A RECENTLY RESTORED CAR, BUT IT DID NOT HAVE A “FRAME-OFF” RESTORATION, SINCE IT DID NOT NEED ONE. IT HAS HAD MOST ITEMS REDONE OVER TIME (ENGINE, PAINT, INTERIOR, UNDERCARRIAGE, TRIM, ETC). IT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND COLLECTOR OWNED FOR MANY YEARS. THE CAR HAS BEEN RESTORED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD. THE PAINT, THE ENGINE, INTERIOR, RUBBER SUSPENSION AND EVEN THE DOORJAMBS ARE ALL IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION. THE CAR WOULD BE A WINNER IN MOST SHOWS AS IT STANDS RIGHT NOW, NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT LOOKS STUNNING, BUT BECAUSE IT ALSO REMAINS TRUE TO ALL OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS THAT COME WITH THE CAR. OF COURSE, A NUMBERS MATCHING DRIVETRAIN. The car runs solid and straight as if it were new, with no rattles or other annoyances, and is a pleasure to drive and yes…it has all the torque and horsepower that a W30 should have. THE EXHAUST IS A VERY HIGH QUALITY SYSTEM BY GARDNER, WHICH MAKES A BEAUTIFUL EXHAUST NOTE FROM THE TAIL PIPES. SINCE I HAVE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER, I FEEL CONFIDENT IN STATING THAT THE CAR AS IT SITS RIGHT NOW, HAS THE EXCACT OPTIONS THAT IT WAS EQUIPPED WITH FROM THE FACTORY IN 1971. THE ONLY EXCEPTIONS ARE THAT IT ORIGINALLY HAD DELUXE HUBCAPS (NOW IT HAS COLOR MATCHED SSII WHEELS.) AND THE FRONT BUMPER GUARDS WERE NOT RE-INSTALLED WHEN THE BUMPERS WERE RECHROMED BUT I HAVE THEM. The a/c is fully functional and blows cold. The car has the correct “bittersweet” paint and white interior, top and accent stripes >>> as ordered from the factory. The car has not had an “every nut and bolt” restoration. It is not flawless. Nevertheless it is one beautiful machine. I say this not as a warning but if you are the type of person that needs every factory chalk mark recreated, this car may not be for you. Look at the photos, they show what a beautiful car this is. Front to back, under the hood, trunk and undercarriage are all clean solid and impressive. Note the firestone oval spare which I believe to be original with the car.
