Vehicle Detail
Mechanically good car, restoration candidate, drive or restore. Mechanical Fuel Injected M127 motor is strong, valves adjusted, full tune-up, no smoke, no leaks, trans shifts perfect, up and down, power steering pump rebuilt, radiator cleaned/rebuilt, brakes replaced completely, new master cylinder, all hoses, disc front with drum rear, tight suspension, All running gear rubber mounts replaced (2) sub-frame mounts, (2) motor (1) transmission, (1) rear axle , All fuel, transmission, and water hoses replaced (some were originals), all filters replaced, clean non-rusted fuel tank. All fluids replaced, older 13" thin white wall tires (white turned in), Exhaust system replaced from head pipe to chrome tip (sounds correct). This car has the rare underbody skid plates, originally from Minnesota to California The tire chains were in the left rear of the trunk, thus that area has rust - thru. No salt type total rust-out. Needing body and paint restoration, Yes there is rust, (body man estimates 40 hours of metal work). Surface rust on original paint. right front fender had a bang and was replaced sometime, original and complete car minus the radio. This car is not a crusher, It was in a movie with docs. Good project or for cheap parts, note the prices of individual motor/trans, misc parts. extra set of window glass. I've had this type MBZ since 1976, and maintained them, this one was saved from the pick-a-part crusher yard because of it's low mileage and I was surprised how good the mechanical conditions is. If it doesn't sell it is going to Switzerland next year for restoration work at friends shop, he believes in the potential. I need to clear out the excess cars.
