Here is a beautiful 1985 Honda 250 Rebel...Collector, Commuter or Beginner Bike!Yes...its 27 years old and look how nice this bike still is. With new paint, I'd challenge you to find a nicer '85 anywhere! This easy and fun to ride, fuel sipper can cruise the highway at 70 mph, making it an excellent commuter, beginners bike, inexpensive user for motorcycle test, or ride for a smaller person. It is 100% Factory Original with only 4,671 miles and just had a complete "frame-up" cosmetic/mechanical restoration with the engine left untouched, except to perform maintenance, or remove parts for cosmetic reconditioning. It still retains the original internals, starts and runs perfectly. A summary of the restoration details worth mentioning: Bike was disassembled, the frame and attaching painted components were stripped and refinished.Engine cases, rocker cover and forks legs, which typically get a gray/black and dingy color with age, were stripped & polished to a high gloss. Virtually every chrome piece was buffed to remove any light rust and oxidation.Serviceable parts with any sign of corrosion were treated, sealed and refinished. Any and all non-serviceable parts were replaced. Everything it was equipped with is in place and works correctly. Front & rear fenders are perfect, I would consider the tank to be as well, having only one tiny 3/16" bump that can be seen only if you look very closely. Paint is still glossy all over, but has a little "age fading" of the base paint (red) on top/center of the tank and more so on the fenders. Common with 80's & some 90's model metallic/candy base color paints. Tank a very few small stone chips at the very front. Front fender has a 1 1/4" shallow scratch at the lip & rear has a couple smaller ones the right side.Seat is perfect, not worn or collapsed. Strap was removed due to non-interest.Tires are 90% or better.All electrical connections & lighting was inspected, cleaned and lubricated as required, and a new battery installed.All required maintenance was performed, whether needed or not; engine and chassis lubricants replaced, sump filter cleaned, engine tuned, cam chain, engine valves, cables, clutch, chain, rear brakes were checked and adjusted, front brake hydraulic system was cleaned & flushed.Fuel system was flushed, appears rust free and carburetor rebuilt.As mentioned, this is a 27 year old basic motorcycle and its excellent overall pre-recon condition made it unnecessary to replace every good piece showing a bit of age. Every feasable effort was made to have the finished product be as close to new as practically possible, and I'm completely satisfied this bike will not disappoint you. With my intention to sell it and considering every individual's preference of color is different, I chose not to do the paint the bike. A prospective new owner may not like the stock Red color, an alternative, or might prefer to leave it as is. Most body shops should be able to refinish the tank & fenders with a single stage basic color generally, for no more than $150.-$300. Thanks for lookin' at my Rebel!
