Vehicle Detail
Here is a car you don't see everyday, a 1977 Lincoln Continental "Town Coupe". This car has had only one owner, since 1977 and was his pride and joy. I purchased this car last year from a family friend when his father was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease. They then decided they had to sell the car. He kept going into the garage trying to back the car out and go out driving, so his son said it was best for the car to go. After I bought it I replaced the rear bumper as the original one had damage, I had a new master cylinder, some brake lines, gas tank, battery and belts put in the car. After that it went into one of my garages until last week when I awoke it from its slumber. I just have too many cars and not enough time to fix this car like I had wanted to. It has 57,000 original miles on the big 460 V8 engine. This car really gets going down the highway. The overall condition of the car I would say is driver quality needing TLC to make it the lady it used to be. The car was special ordered from Bay lincoln mercury in 1977, having the optional turbine wheels and the very rare "continental" trunk. The car is a dove gray color with matching vinyl roof and silver grey leather interior. The car does have some rust but mainly surface. The vinyl top is in great soft shape, only damage is on the lower band part of the roof which a shop told me they could just patch the bottom section and save the top. Some of the passenger moldings have garage scrapes but I do have other moldings I bought to go with the car. The car is complete right down to the original floor mats. Power windows and seats work as they should, even the 8 track player works! The interior is in pretty nice shape, only the driver's seat is showing wear due to his father being a little heavy. The rest of the seats rugs, headliner and doors are nice just needing minor cleaning if any. The dash is perfect and free of cracks. Chrome is in nice shape on the grill and bumpers. The car also features wheel skirts which is a nice option to have. With some upholstery work on the driver's seat, and a fresh paint job this car would be car show ready. The tires are like new as well. Car starts up nicely and is super quiet with no noises, or leaks. Vacuum headlights do go in the up position if the car is not run in 3-4 days. Being this car was born and raised in Brooklyn I left the original grill badge which says I love new york on it for good luck. Please understand the car is 34 years old and would need TLC to make it a show car. The car is a rare piece and deserves to be put back to its former glory. Any questions please ask before placing a bid. The car is being sold in AS-IS condition due to the age with no warranties expressed or implied. Pick up is the responsibilty of the purchaser. Buyer's with zero feedback please CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction closing. Thank you, Schoolboy.
