History of the 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T Dodge was serious about performance in 1969. The Scat pack was back and so was the Coronet R/T. Changes included a new grille, rectangular turn indicators on the fenders, R/T bumblebee stripe and new rear taillight panel. The 1969 Coronet R/T was offered in both hardtop and convertible form. Available as an option was a Ramcharger fresh-air induction system (standard on Hemi Models) with twin hood scoops. The 440 four barrel remained standard on the Coronet R/T, you could add the Hemi for another $418. The 727 TorqueFlite automatic was also standard, a four-speed manual was available as an option. Dodge offered a great selection of rear axle ratios for 1969. Depending on the standard or optional engine and transmission, you could improve on the standard rear axle ratio of 3.23:1 by ordering a 3.54:1, 3.55:1, 3.91:1 or a 4.10:1 Performance Axle Package. 1969 was to be the best year for combined sales of the Dodge Scat Pack cars. The Charger R/T, Super Bee recorded an increase in sales. However sales for the Dodge Coronet R/T dropped. The 1969 Coronet R/T 2 door hardtop was priced at $3,442 and the R/T convertible at $3,660.
