Vehicle Detail

I am the second owner of this 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra (a.k.a. the "Terminator"). If you're looking for an unbelievably fast Mustang in nearly mint condition without the new-Mustang sticker price, you've found it. I bought this beauty with only 6,000 miles on it, have driven it ONLY in nice weather, and have kept it garaged 100% of the time I wasn't driving it. This car has been my baby, and it kills me to part with it, but my wife is insisting I downsize on my "toys" due to a growing family. I guarantee if you're the lucky winner on this auction, you will never want to let this car go. Paint color on this 10th-anniversary Cobra is a beautiful Metallic Redfire Clearcoat, and the interior is gray suede with black leather (called "medium graphite" by Ford). The car also features factory Cobra badging throughout (floor mats, stitched into headrests, front grill, center caps, etc.). The entire car is squeaky clean from top to bottom, inside and out. Even the engine is spotless (check out the pics!). It was undercoated at the dealership. The engine, by the way, was hand-built and signed by 2 SVT technicians (factory), and features forced induction. Besides seeing 8k miles on the odometer, you'll feel like you're driving a brand new car--one that will throw you back in your seat when you step on the accelerator. (Horsepower and torque are factory rated at 390, but since it was underrated, its true horsepower is actually more like 420.) But she also rides smooth, handles like a dream, and is as luxurious inside as you could ever expect a muscle car to be. Plus, she gets 24 mpg on the highway! The only flaw is the back bumper; I backed up against a pole, which has made the black plastic on the bottom of the bumper have a lightened spot from being slightly flexed. But there are no scratches on the paint, and no pieces needed to be replaced at all. It's not a big spot, but you can see it in the rear bumper photo if you look closely. I just want to be upfront with everyone....no surprises. The pictures make it look a lot worse than in person. I forgot to mention that when I bought this car, it already had a K&N FIPK II cold air intake and Flowmaster mufflers installed like the original mufflers were installed. No new exhaust pipe was used. They basically are factory replacement mufflers with a little more attitude and flow. I know the cold are intake was $200.00 and the mufflers were around $140.00 without install labor. It also has a smaller antenna for the radio installed. It looks a lot better. I do have the stock one to give the buyer. As many Cobra enthusiasts might know, a common issue with the early '03 was a cylinder head problem. You'll be happy to know that this vehicle was produced AFTER Ford corrected this issue. So, it has the blue paint on the left cylinder head (an indicator that the revised cylinder head is in fact on it). This was done in vehicle production at the factory, not dealer-installed.Some more info about the car (from ModdedMustangs.com): Debuting in early 2002, the 2003 Cobra--codenamed "Terminator" by the SVT development crew, which quickly became common usage for the 2003/04 Cobra--came with a supercharged 4.6 L DOHC engine. Numerous improvements were made to the powertrain and driveline to handle the increase of power from the previous model year. A cast iron block was used instead of aluminum, with stronger internals, including forged Zolner pistons and Manley H-beam connecting rods that were modified with a wrist pin oiling hole by the SVT engine builders. These upgrades were critical in order to support the 8 psi of boost delivered from the stock Eaton M112 roots supercharger. Other improvements include the use of an aluminium flywheel connected to a Tremec T-56 six-speed transmission, 3.55:1 rear axle ratio and stronger 31 spline half shafts with revised upper and lower control arms. These modifications launched the Cobra from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in the high 12's at over 110 mph. Some have gone as low as 12.4 seconds with a professional driver and good conditions in stock form.
