FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER AT ANYTIME. 1956 BUICK SPECIAL STATION WAGON! This wagon has a nice body and will make a great project for someone. These look great restored original, rodded or kustomized and you don't see them often at car shows. Would also make an easy gasser wagon because the wheelwells are radiused from the factory, unlike '55 chevies. A straight-axle setup for a '55 should fit easily and they're somewhat affordable from speedway. I've also included a couple pics of nice '56 wagons to see the potential and how you can choose different ways to paint the two-tone. Here are all the details. Also included is a couple videos with buick gassers that I saw on youtube. This was a running motor but will probably need re-ringed at least. I bought it from a church pastor so I believe he was honest about it. He said it was out of a running 1970 buick. The motor should have about 350hp stock. He took the heads off to inspect the cylinders. The heads are back on it now and the motor is mostly complete believe with the exception of the carb. He told me the transmission worked also. The motor/transmission will be tied onto a pallet and put in the rear area of the car for transport. The original engine/transmission are gone. This is a power steering car and the pump is still connected. Dual exhaust is still in place. I'm sure it most likely needs the brakes checked out. All original wiring looks fine and I don't see anything that has been cut. This 455 will be a nice motor for the wagon, as they have over 500lbs of torque stock. The 455 also weighs 150 pounds less than a chevy 454. Please if you have no intention of using the 455, please tell me to save me the trouble of loading it. If you want it though, I am happy to put it in there. The car comes with stock type roller wheels. The keystones are not included. Would look great with some magnesium style gasser wheels! BODY The body on this wagon is not perfect, but very nice for a project. There is NO external rust on the outer body. Anything you see in the pics is surface rust only and I've checked it well to make sure there is not any pinhole rust or anything. It is not perfect but very straight as you can see from the pics, and the paint appears original. No bondo or signs of repaint ever. The tailgate, frame, rockers, doors, quarters, roof, hood, front fenders, jams, pillars, etc. etc. are rust free. The cargo area and spare tire tub are nice and rust free. The only rust on the car is in the lower floorpan foot areas. New repair panels are sold for the floors and I can give you the information. All 4 repair panels total about $200 and it's not hard to do them yourself as I've done many. The glass is all nice and the windshield is not chipped. Minor bubbling in some windows that is normal for 55 year old windows. All doors and hood open/close as they should. Most of the trim on the car is very nice. The bumpers are usable and would clean up ok. The large chrome moulding over the grille is broke but a nice replacement is included. The corvette hubcaps are not included. Overall, the body is very nice for a project and the body looks good enough to drive as is. This would make an awesome gasser wagon because the factory wheelwells are radiused, allowing large tires with no modifications. INTERIOR The interior needs some restoration, but could be used as is. The dashpad is very nice. Doorpanels are usable. Rear seat is usable, headliner is gone but rods are there. Front seat has usual wear but could be used with a seat cover. Carpet is gone. Dash area and steering wheel are in good shape and would clean up well. RADIO IS INCLUDED BUT NOT PICTURED. OVERALL These wagons hold their value when restored and it's nice to see a '56 wagon at a car show that is not a chevy. This buick will look sweet with a wooden cargo rack on top or a longboard. Whether it's rodded, restored to original, or done as a gasser, it will be cool. Thanks and feel free to ask questions or make an offer. On Oct-07-11 at 09:01:41 PDT, seller added the following information: In case you didn't see them in the pics, there are some small dents in the roof. It is not caved in, but will need repaired if doing a resto. On Oct-09-11 at 10:31:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I prefer BANK WIRE but will accept check, money order, and paypal under specific conditions. Please ask me before sending any paypal. The car needs to be paid for BEFORE IT IS PICKED UP, SHIPPED OR VIEWED. I do not accept cash for a variety of reasons. I am flexible on storage until the car can be shipped or picked up. I can help arrange shipping and will help load the car.
