Vehicle Detail
I have relisted this car with a lower reserve price. It is also listed locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thanks for any interest. . This is not a show car but it is prime for someone who wants a car to drive on Sunday or go the rest of the way with the restore. Fine running four cyl. diesel. Frames and floors are solid. No rust through anywhere. My friends all have told me to keep it as it is and just drive it. There are a few dings and scratches. No rust in the frame and very little surface rust on the body. The thing I would do if I were able to keep it is change out the weather stripping here and there. Everything works, lights, guages, horn etc... The only non working things seem to be the clock and I'm not good with clocks, and the outboard blinker lights on the front fenders need to be hooked up. wiring is there. Blinkers front and rear work fine.. There are a few small tears in the front leather seats. This thing even starts in the dead of winter. The milage on the odometer says 16,784 but there seems to be no room for more numbers. I'm sure that has turned at least once. These cars have been good for a million miles or more as taxis in many countries. The tires are like new, the chrome is good, the paint is a bit faded but people seem to like the look. I have a pile of maintenance records that include thousands in small needed upgrades. Brakes have been done. Shocks, motor mounts, starter repaired, new injectors, glow plugs, generator and voltage regulator, rear transmission mount, clutch and pivots etc. the list goes on. I have an old bill of sale from previous owner for 13,000 dollars, paid before all of this work was done. If you are looking for a car to restore, much of the work has been done . Mechanically sound to my knowledge, ( I restore motorcycles) and it wont take much to make a show car out of her I think. I have a very reasonable reserve on this car. I try to be up front about everything and if I've missed anything feel free to contact me with questions. Sale of this car is final. I am losing my place to store her and I will not let her live outside. After all, she just had her 50TH birthday... On Sep-22-11 at 15:06:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a few pictures that show the paint to be crazed a bit on the trunk lid. A quarter sized ding in the paint on the hood. One of the friont seats. A bit of surface rust on the passenger door. Again, This is not presented as a show car but it does turn heads everywhere I take it. People seem to start talking to me the minute they see it.
