This auction is for a 1966 AMC Rambler Ambassador. It is being sold with a starting bid of $800 and NO RESERVE. I bought this car this summer, but decided that I have too many projects. If I do not get rid of it before it snows, I might work on getting it road worthy. This car was purchased new at Lee's Garage in Dickinson ND in October of 1965 by a farmer and has stayed in western ND its entire life. When I purchased the car this summer, I became the second owner. The title that was signed over to me is the original title. I have switched the title to my name and am waiting for it to come in the mail. I also requested that they send back the origional title. I have registered the car with ND pioneer license plates. Some of my pictures did not turn out very good with the sun, but if you need pictures of anything specific, I will do my best to get them to you. The car is in very good condition with no rust through whatsoever and very minor surface rust. The only surface rust on the outside of the car is where rocks have chipped the paint. There is also some surface rust in the trunk under the mat. The paint has what appears to be stains from tree sap being on it at some time. I polished a spot on the hood and trunk lid with some turtle wax polish and it came out looking as good as new. This is all that I have done as far as cleaning the car at this point. It has 2-tone paint, the roof is a light silver color. Both front and rear bumpers are bent, but should be able to be straightened. The taillights are broken. I have a pair that I believe came from a wagon. They are slightly different, but I think they will work if the whole housing is switched. The interior is in very good shape for its age. The drivers seat is ripped up. The headliner has NO holes in it. The carpet does have some rips and holes. The radio works and all controls appear to be intact except for the passenger side recliner handle has the end broke off. There is no sign of mice ever being in any part of this car. The 327 V8 engine seems to start good and run strong. I have only driven it around the yard because there is a frost plug leaking, so there is no coolant in the engine. I have it running from a lawn mower gas tank under the hood, because I have not had a chance to find out if there is rust in the tank or not. Also, the brakes need attention. When I drive it, I can feel that it is fighting the brakes. When I jack up the tires, 3 of them are hard to turn by hand. The tires are old and rotted and the passenger side tires do not hold air for very long. All the doors and windows open and close very well. All the glass is good except for one chip in the bottom passenger side corner of the windshield. I believe the only trim piece missing is the passenger side rocker panel. That is all I can think of to tell you. I am no expert on these, but this one seems to be in very good condition for the year and for my asking price. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange pickup or shipping. This car must be paid for within 5 days of the end of the auction. For payment, I will accept a check or cash. However, I do require an immediate paypal deposit of $100. If paying by check you must allow time for it to clear the bank before the item is picked up. This car must be picked up by November 1st 2011 unless other arrangments are made with me. I am not responsible for the car after it is paid for. Ask all questions before bidding.
