This is a running project..... with emphasis on "project". I originally purchased the car as a parts car for my '67 but the little car has "soul" and I didn't have the heart to part her out. The body is in very good condition (why I bought her). There is surface rust but no body rot as the car sat in the desert for 10 years. The car is complete, but needs restoration. These old volvos have a cult-like following in the Pacific Northwest so parts are readily available online. There are tons of online clubs and resources available if you are interested in a cool DIY project. Actually, I rebuilt my '67 as a bonding project with my teenage daughter. This car has very clean chrome bumpers and a stock roof rack. She is currently licensed and insured and sitting on the street- patiently waiting for her new owner. I want to clarify the condition of the car as several people have asked about it. The engine runs...... but the car doesn't drive. The car sat for 10 years prior to me buying it. I replaced the oil and filter, battery, tires, and hoses. The fuel tank has a leak near the drain plug and the fuel pump leaks. I have gravity fed fuel into the carbs a few times and she fires right up. The car runs rough. I am sure she needs carb work. I have not run it long enough to know the condition of the motor. The clutch and trans condition is unknown as the clutch master cylinder and slave need rebuilt (IPD is a good parts source). I don't know the condition of the brakes. I'm sure the brake master cylinder and wheel cylinders all needs rebuilt/replaced as the rubber parts break down over time. All this is common with volvos, but luckily the parts and online assistance is readily available. The interior of the car is shot although some of the door panels are decent. I had a $900 estimate for the interior work a year ago to completely redo the saets, headliner, and the carpet..... a killer deal. The driver's side glass is pitted (from blowing sand in the desert), the rest is clear. Body- Obviously the car needs paint and a little bodywork on the nose clip. There are a few minor dings, but the body is in excellent shape for an old volvo. Floorpans are also solid. The door hinges are very tight and close like a new car..... unlike my '67 that you need to slam the doors shut due to hinge wear. Most of the work above is inexpensive if you are a little handy and willing to get your hands dirty. I did all this on my '67 wagon and I am far from being a car guy. The sales is as-is..... the lucky winner need to bring cash and a tow truck at the close of the sale.
