Vehicle Detail
A unique opportunity two projects 1965 & 1966 Mustang Coupes. Clear Indiana title for both cars. I acquired both cars a few years ago and started on re-building first the '65 then later the '66 that fell into my lap. 1965- VIN# 5F07C779376 Where to start? This car is totally disassembled with the uni-body resting on a steel square-tube cart that I built to roll it around. The car was driven into my garage and then dis-assembled for the purpose of having it acid dipped. After the dipping process the amount of damage was fully revealed at that time and it was extensive. What it still needs that I am aware of, floor pan and seat risers, inner and outer wheel wells, both rear over axle frame rail extensions, trunk drops, quarter panels, new high-hats under cowls, driver side front frame rail extension, and a few other misc sheet metal parts. Now the good news is that all of these sheet metal parts are included with this auction including a new one-piece full floor pan. The car was complete that was (barely) drivable. It had a non-original 302 engine and transmission that someone had installed long before I purchased it. I have no real idea as to the the real condition of the engine and transmission but they are included. Once I acquired the '66 I left this one sitting and worked on the other. 1966-VIN#6T07C205879 This car was towed into my garage and was mostly in boxes and dis-assembled when I bought it. It has a 302 engine block and a transmission but I have no idea whether the are operational or not. I wasn't worried about motors and transmissions until I had the bodies re-done and wanted to start re-building.After getting this car it was in significantly better shape(if a car that needs totally rebuilt can be better) than the '65 so I switched projects to this car instead. What I have replaced and or replaced so far.... Cowl removed and high-hats replaced, new floor pans (both sides as the aftermarket one piece came out after work was done) with seat risers, under floor front extensions, and some misc smaller sheet metal pieces. What it still needs. One of the trunk drops and the rear taillight bar panel. It will also need bottom quarter panel pieces repaired. Most of the major sheet metal has been replaced. I also installed accessory torque boxes (driver side installed and have passenger not installed..) It has doors that will need to be replaced and most probably the front fenders as well however I had pretty much decided I would use what parts I had from the '65 to complete the '66 and replace those parts down the road if I ever got around to the other car. Also included I have all the glass for both cars as well as 4 fairly new tires with what I believe are American Racing Rims they came on the '65. Also one complete Garb-A-Trac upgraded suspension kit included (all poly bushings and upgraded oversize torsion bars) complete with shocks, control arms , and leaf springs (retails at around $1000.00) that was to go on one of the cars and one set of square-tube sub frame connectors to stiffen the unibody. My idea was to upgrade as much as possible while trying to keep it as true to original as I could. Interiors will have to be totally replaced but I believe I have all the components including seats and belts (interior packages will have to be purchased). I have tried to be as honest and forth coming as I can with what I have and the condition they are in. Make no mistake these cars are projects that are in a dis-assembled state. Normal car shipping can not be done as one does not have wheels other than on the cart. Make no mistake two dis-assembled cars take up a lot of room and my garage is stuffed. To move these cars will take a tilt flat bed (that is how I have moved them from time to time to send to have things done.) There are several boxes of parts and all the additional sheet metal parts as well as two engines/blocks and transmissions. I will help pack everything up as best as I can, but shipping all these pieces would cost a small fortune and I will not pay for any shipping. I might be willing to load up as many pieces as a I can carry in my truck and deliver to winning bidder within a couple of hundred miles at most. Sheet metal and suspensions parts alone would cost $3,000-4,000. I know I can never make back all the money I have in this project so reserve is reasonable at $5000.
