Vehicle Detail

For sale is a very nice 1970 VW Beetle convertible. This little car is a blast to drive and gets thumbs up everywhere you go. It has a fairly fresh 1600 single port. Manual 4 speed transmission. I am not a VW expert by any means, so if I am wrong on anything written here, please forgive me and feel free to correct me. The car will do 75+ MPH on the freeway (cruises nice at 65) so I don't know if it has the stock transmission. I have never checked fuel mileage, but it will go a lot of miles on a fill up. I bought this bug a little over a year ago, in about a thousand pieces. A little over a year and several thousand dollars later, it is a beautiful daily driver. This bug runs great, but is not a show vehicle. As you can see from the pictures, the top is not installed. The frame for the top has been sand blasted and powder coated. I have the original glass rear window but have not yet purchased the top or bows. I also have the new rubber seals for the top. The paint and body work was done before I bought the car. The pan under battery is rusty and I would replace the passenger rear quarter pan if I were to keep the car. I hate to sell this car because my kids love it, but..... Medicals bills need to be paid. Below is a list of work done; The Good New brakes All new Rubber seals Engine refurbished by previous owner New Windshield (all other glass is original) New tie rod ends New steering stabilizer All new interior (Custom upholstery with extra padding in seats for better than factory seat comfort) New retractable seat belts AM/FM Multimedia Player (I have the stock AM radio) New Aluminium powder coated running boards Recent under coating Chip guard on under side of all fenders I sprayed bedliner material on fender wells for looks and sound deadening New wheel bearings New bumpers and bumper brackets New white fender welting new carpet and carpet pad The list goes on and on and on. Hundreds of hours invested The Bad; Rust under battery Idle cut off switch need to be replaced Needs trunk Liner Convertible top needs to be finished Tires are about 50% tread Dash pad not intalled (I liked it better without) Defroster not hooked up(needs the hose's and vents installed in the dash but the heater works great) On Sep-24-11 at 11:17:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Note to bidders- If the vehicle needs to be shipped, I will make sure to carefully cover the top of the vehicle so it stays clean and dry for the transport.
