I have over 100 more pictures that can be seen here: http://photobucket.com/64_Corvair Just click the link above or copy and paste it into An new browser for more pics.Runs, Drives but doesn't stop :) I am selling this 1964 Corvair Convertible that I bought off Craigslist 2 days ago. It was such a good deal I couldn't refuse. I am offering the car starting at only $625.00 with absolutely NO RESERVE! After my enthusiastic purchase, reality set in, due to my many back surgeries, I will not be able to restore this car. As much as I would like to I can't physically or financially fix this car! Therefore, my loss is your gain. I received a clear signed Maryland Dept of Transportation Title pictured here http://photobucket.com/64_Corvair (as well as over 100 other pictures). As I said I just bought the car two days ago, so all I know is what I have seen and heard in 2 days. The car started and still starts as I started it and drove it on and off of my trailer to get it home. The brakes do not work, so I had to use the emergency brake to stop the car. The engine sounds good and has no smoke. The transmission feels strong as far as I could tell driving it onto my trailer. I drove it in forward and reverse. The car has a lot of rust and some has been repaired with fiberglass such as the floor pans. ALL of the glass is in excellent shape. The windshield is perfect with no chips or cracks. The upholstery and carpet are surprisingly not bad. If you are going to do a 100% rebuild you would want to replace, but if you are just to a partial rebuild then the upholstery would be usable. The top is in great shape it is not hard and brittle but it does have roughly a 3 inch cut in the center of the front which I am sure can be repaired. The back window (clear plastic) is too blurry to use and has a cut in it. The car was started with a small gas can hooked to the carborator intake. The seller said he was afraid to put gas in the tank due to possible corrosion. There is an extra tank that comes with the car. I have a ton of extra parts that go with the car pictured here at http://photobucket.com/64_Corvair all the parts pictured seperately laying on the ground come with the car. Most are extras that you could sell or trade for other needed parts for the rebuild. Heck the extra parts I have are worth more than the starting price of the auction. This car can be rebuilt or can be used to part out or just buy it for the parts for your rebuild. Now for the fun part... I will work with everyone interested in this car as best as I can. If you would like to purchase or bid on this car, I highly recommend you see it in person first. I have taken many pictures and made them available to the public, however a picture is only worth a thousand words. If you are here – in person - looking at it we can easily exchange a thousand and one or even more, but please, let’s keep them clean (LOL). All sales are final. Please call me, email me, and come see me, or whatever it is you need to do to know what you are buying please do it in advance of submitting any bid. The car is 47 years old so don't expect a new car with all the bells and whistles. By submitting a bid on this auction for the 1964 corvair you are agreeing to all terms of the auction and that you have either seen the car or have contacted me and done due diligence and know that this car is what you want and if you are the winning bidder you know all sales are final. The winning bidder must put a $500 dollar down payment on the car via my PayPal account within 24 hours of auction end. The final payment must be made within 7 days of auction in person when you pick the car up. Buyer is 100% responsible for picking up this car and or shipping the car. Any other payment options must be arranged with me (the seller) prior to your bidding and winning the car at auction end. The car is located in Cedar Park Texas (Austin, Texas) Good Luck with the auction. Please look at the additional pictures of the car here http://photobucket.com/64_Corvair Please email me via the “ask the seller a question” and I will give you my phone # and address for for additional contact. On Sep-23-11 at 08:15:09 PDT, seller added the following information: SNIPER ALERT! PLEASE SEE MY ADDED NOTE BELOW ABOUT SNIPERS! SNIPER ALERT! SNIPER ALERT! What is a Sniper? A sniper is a person or a software program that finds ebay auctions that have no reserve and usually within the last minutes or seconds of an auction will place a bid to win the auction and any opposing bidders have no time to respond with a new bid. As a long term seller on ebay I have learned the tell tell signs of snipers. There are many people preparing to "SNIPE" this auction. The public can't see what the seller sees, such as the number of views of the auction and the number of watchers When an item with no reserve goes with no bids or just a few low bids the sniper will watch the auction and then "Snipe" the item in the last few minutes but usually seconds of the auction. The sniper will try to bid in small incriments to beat your "Max" bid. The Snipers main goal is to take advantage of the sellers good intentions of starting an auction low and having no reserve. How can you still win the auction and beat the sniper.? Make sure when you place your bid that you complete the bid. When bidding you will be asked what is the max you want to bid on the item. Make sure you put your MAX bid at this time. Also Bid early. Place your bid early. The more bids an auction has will discourage the Sniper from participating in the auction. How do I know about the sniper? I learned the hard way! In my early days as a new member of ebay I would find items that were great deals, just like this one, with low starts and no reserves. I would place a bid and leave my max bid only a couple dollars higher with the thinking if I get outbid, I would just go back in and bid a few dollars more just like in a live auction....well it didn't work. I would place the bid early and then watch...5 days left Im the high bidder...4 days left I'm still the high bidder...1 day left Still me.. Only 5 minutes left in the auction I'm still the high bidder...Only seconds left...Then Bam Auction pops up as ended and they show the winner and it is not me. It is someone who placed a bid only seconds before the auction ended. The bad thing is they bought the item for mere pennies or a few dollars more than what I had as my high bid even though I would have bid much higher if I would have known someone was going to bid against me. For more information on "Auction SNIPERS"Simply google; ebay snipers, auction snipers etc. On Sep-26-11 at 13:34:25 PDT, seller added the following information:PAYMENT UPDATE!!!! The winning bidder needs to contact me before making any payments. Since the car is to be picked up in person, I will probably take all payment at that time instead of any payment via Pay Pal. Thank you in advance.
