Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a great-driving 1967 LeMans 2dr, post. with only 60k original miles! Must Sell, Low Reserve! 1967 LeMans, 2 dr. post, 8 cyl. Mileage: 60126 Vin #: 237077p324441 Body Plate: 07 2 67-23707 PON 4003 BODY 220 B K-1 PAINT E 2KUG 5Y 1W2D Originally- Gulf Turquoise with Ivory Top and Turquiose Interior. Also originally had AC. This is a very complete Florida car. This car is an excellent driver and looks good as it is cruising down the road. If you just want a nice-looking daily driver, very little would need to be done. A lot could be kept to turn it into a show car or GTO clone as well. The choice is yours. I am moving soon and need to sell this car fast otherwise I would list it much higher and advertise it more on other sites- my loss is your gain. I am just the third owner of this car. The first owner was a school teacher who bought it new and had it for around thirty years. She took very good care of it and had it in a garage, then she sold it to the next owner. He had a lot of work done on it, but did not have a garage for it and let it sit outside for at least two years. I purchased the vehicle in 2008 and shipped it to Illinois. I have over $8200 invested into this car- this only includes purchases to improve the car (i.e. no insurance, storage, etc). The vehicle comes with some new parts (antenna, some rubber, headliner molding, etc) and a lot of parts that I received with the car (I was told the complete, original ac system but I don’t think it’s all there, brake pads, etc). Engine: The engine originally was a 326 which was replaced by the previous owner about seven years ago. It now has a rebuilt 350, which I had tuned-up ($600+) last year. It runs well and can put down some power. It starts up easily except, sometimes, after you get it warmed up and turn it off. I think the starter solenoid may need to be replaced though the records from the previous owner shows it was already replaced. Transmission: The transmission is the original 2 speed automatic, super-turbine 300. It seems to shift properly and smoothly. It does leak tranny fluid despite the fact that I had the transmission gasket replaced earlier this year. Exterior: I believe the car was painted about seven years ago along with all the other work that was done. The car looks good at twenty or thirty feet. Unfortunately, the owner skimped on the paint job. They did not prep the car properly so there is some chipping in various places throughout the car, most notably a spot near the antenna, on the rear quarter panel in front of the wheel, and in the middle of the trunk. There is also some crows feet on the front right fender. I have touched these all up as best I could. This car does have some rust. There is a bubble on the rear right quarter panel, bubbling along the rear window molding, the drivers and passengers floor pans have small rust-holes in them, the trunk has some very small holes (none big enough for anything to fall through), and the inner wheel wells have rust as well. The chrome is generally in good condition. I replaced most of the windshield molding when I replaced the windshield last month. The rest of the chrome is in ok to good condition. The front bumper and headlight bezel look great, while a couple pieces of the rear trim are missing and the rear bumper is not in great shape. The wheels were painted with the car and look good but are starting to get a little surface rust in spots. The tires are newer and hardly have any mileage on them. The glass is in good shape. Like I said, the windshield is brand-new. The driver's window does have a couple of scratches on it and the rear window looks a bit dirty even when it is clean. The rest of the windows have no problems. They all roll up and down nicely. Interior: The interior is in overall decent shape and would not take too much to bring up to excellent condition. The seats were reupholstered around seven years ago and look good though some of the stitching is coming undone on the backs. There is a small cut and a tear (about four inches long) on the driver’s side front seat. You could replace the one panel and be good. The rear seats are in good condition. The carpet is about seven years old but is faded from sitting in the sun at the previous owner’s house. The headliner has three or four small holes in it above the driver's head. The dash and instrument panel look great with no warping or cracked glass, it could use a little touch-up on the chrome accents. The heater doesn’t work but the AM radio does. It has an original 8 track player mounted under the radio which I have no way to check. Note: these are just the points that I think are most important, it is a 40+ year-old car and there are probably other quirks and small problems that I have forgot to mention. Also, I am not a mechanic or a body-man by trade and I am describing this to the best of my ability. More pictures and info. Available upon request. Come and check it out! I will be available for appointments over the selling period. I am located just 50 miles straight west of Chicago (off of route 64- a.k.a. On Sep-20-11 at 21:53:58 PDT, seller added the following information:fyi- I added a 'buy it now' price and put the starting price where it was supposed to be to begin with.On Sep-21-11 at 09:58:31 PDT, seller added the following information:I just added the pictures of the engine, trunk, a/c components on the car, and the included parts. I included a close-up of the trunk because it has more rust than I thought it did and will either need a patch or to be replaced, depending on your plans with the car. New parts included are: an antenna, rear-view mirror, some rubber, hood insulation, side-mirror gasket, headliner-molding, top-windshield molding, wipers, and a transmission filter. Other parts included are: an extra water pump, water-pump housing, pulley, and gasket, brake pads, brake parts, and nice lower and side windshield moldings. I would encourage you to call or stop by before purchasing this vehicle. PLEASE CALL ME AT 815-751-2792 WITH QUESTIONS OR TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT.On Sep-22-11 at 08:44:33 PDT, seller added the following information:*It has been brought to my attention that the front grill, bumper, right-hand fender, and nose are off a '66. I had never heard this before and am not a LeMans expert so I am not sure if this is true or not, but be advised. On Sep-24-11 at 22:23:08 PDT, seller added the following information:Just a few other things I thought of on the LeMans. The bearings probably need to be replaced, when going around corners there is some vibration. When you hit the brakes hard they pull a bit as well. Also, Ebay did not allow me to put in that I would accept cashier's checks without saying I would accept money orders. I WILL ONLY ACCEPT A CASHIER'S CHECK (BANK CHECK) OR CASH. NO MONEY ORDERS.
