1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle, extremely rare survivor! We are the second owners of the vehicle from the original owner that purchased the car brand new December 10, 1970. The vehicle only has 22,312 original miles, plus whatever miles we put on it until sold. We have documents to verify mileage which are as follows: Colorado Vehicle Inspection Reports with documented mileage in 1991, 15,625 miles, in 1996, 18,215, in 1999, 18,288, in 2002, 19,765, in 2003, 19,865, in 2004, 20,118, in 2005, 20,165 and in 2011, the mileage was 21,102. The VW Bug has been repainted sometime in its life with the original L54D Marine Blue enamel and was done before clear coat was being applied to any car. The original owner did not remember what year it was done but probably in the late '70's. The car was hit in the right rear quarter and passenger door, which was replaced and when that happened, he had the rest of the car sprayed. All remaining body parts to the car ,including running boards, are original to the car as of build date, December 1970. The pan is in prestine condition with no dents, no patching, no replacement, no rust. The brake lines through out are brand new. The headliner is brand new, seat covers are new, has original carpet, original AM/FM radio. The dash pad is original and it doesn't have any cracking! All four tires are like brand new, brakes are new. The front and rear bumpers are brand new with original brackets. We have the original bumpers, if you would like them we can include them. Even the front defrost fan works and works well, all gauges and lights work. The car is extremely tight, while driving, there isn't any play in the steering, no rattles or squeakes anywhere. The only thing we could possibly think the car would need in the future would be a tune-up. It does run beautiful!! The car has been garaged its whole life and pampered in every way possible. Along with purchase of the vehicle, you will receive all documentation proving the mileage, the original registration from December 10, 1970, German ID card with serial number for the radio, original 1971 owners manual, 1971 Volkswagen service record book and a VW diagnostic punch card booklet. We have tried to portray this vehicle as open and honest as possible so that you can bid with confidence knowing that when you pick it up it is exactly how we described it, possibly better. There are some light scratching on the front fenders where it looked like the old bumper had rubbed. Under the right light it has light scratches on the hood which could easily be buffed out. It looks like the original owner might have laid a box on it. There is a scratch on the roof about 1 inch long and a scratch on the front apron. These scratches aren't very visible, you really have to stare to find them. The paint does not show any swirls or light scratching anywhere else other than where we described. It is extremely glossy and beautiful!! To say it turns heads as we drive it, is probably an understatement!! This beetle, by far, is the best maintained looking, uncobbled up bug I have seen in my 45 years and have had the pleasure of owning. We hate to put her up for sale, however, with my wife starting her new job and I'm trying to start a business...........need I say more?On Sep-19-11 at 15:53:31 PDT, seller added the following information: The 4th pic down it looks like there is a big chip out on the rib in between the hings it is not a chip it is the sun glare.
