I am very careful about my descriptions having gone on many wild goose chases to see bikes and cars that turned out to be in far less condition than advertised. I am sure many of you have been in the same boat so I will do my utmost to describe this beauty so that there are NO disappointments. Very cool, fast, great handling and great sounding 1977 BMW R75/7 cafe racer and stock model all rolled into one. While converting this to a cafe racer we retained all of the original parts to return it to stock, if new owner wishes to do so at a later date, as this is a rare one year only model. Have clear New Hampshire title. VIN No. 612131 Manufactured in 12/76 Following is a list of upgrades: Corbin cafe seat modified to fit as they do not make one for this model. Original San Jose Sport Pac rear set foot pegs and controls. Original complete system exhaust headers and mufflers from San Jose Sport Pac 40mm exhaust modified by them for more performance. We wrapped the exhaust headers in heat wrap perfectly (No rusting or problems on the exhaust headers if you wish to removed the wrap and paint to match the mufflers. We also had to have the heads bored to larger size for the larger exhaust headers. New cylinder, head and valve cover gaskets. Koni rear shocks. New matching Conti Go tires front and rear. New underseat tail/brake light and chrome license plate holder. New cafe drop bars, grips and bar end mirrors. Smaller sleeker directional’s. We purchased another rear sub frame and cut it to remove the rear fender but retained the original sub frame that bolts on. Have the original rear sub frame, rear fender and tail light, original directional’s, foot pegs, shift/brake controls and side covers with stock bands to retain them that will all go with the bike. Do NOT have the original seat, handlebars or exhaust (well actually have the exhaust but it is in used condition and would need new heads to fit them to it as the heads have been bored larger as stated). Color is red and was painted some time ago and shows scuffing near where the original seat rubbed against it. Tanks is super clean inside and out. The center stand has a small arm that protrudes from the side to push down with your foot that is broken off but a new small piece of metal can be welded to it. The speedometer works but the glass is broken and the odometer does not work and reads only 4202 miles which we are sure is not correct but the rest of the bike does not show high mileage wear. Tach works perfectly. Starts easily hot or cold and pulls strong and smoothly thru all gears. No smoke on startup or while running. No odd engine noises. Brakes work strong. Clutch works great with no slippage. All lights and directional’s work perfectly. Battery not that old and is strong with no issues. Aluminum rims in fine condition. This bike turns heads and not only looks great but is quicker than most and handles beautifully. The combination of rear sets, drop bars and Corbin seat is very comfortable on any length ride. New owner will not be disappointed. Reasonable reserve. Please note that I use my own picture service so you get larger and higher quality photos and I took many to show every aspect of this bike so you get no unwanted surprises. And unlike many of the listings on eBay, I have gone to great lengths to fully disclose any problems. I cannot crate and buyer is responsible for shipping. Can hire local to deliver to Forward Air in Boston for an extra $100.00 if that helps. Motorcycle is sold as is as shown with no warrienties expressed or implied but I stand behind my description 100%.
