This 1980 Mercedes Benz 450 SLC is in beautiful condition. It has a great engine that always starts. This car is as strong as some of these SL and SLCs that you see go for upwards of 10K, both cosmetically and mechanically. The paint is gorgeous and shiny. No rust or dings on the body. The only small dings are confined to the bumpers. No rust anywhere. The Michelin tires are not new, but they have a good amount of tread left and will not need to be replaced right away. I drove this car daily in Los Angeles for several years, taking it up to Sacramento monthly. It never let me down in bumper to bumper traffic or on the freeway. This car is simply a dream to drive on the open road! I purchased this car myself on Ebay in 2006 from a reputable Los Angeles dealer that was selling hundreds of gorgeous Mercedes, Porches, and Ferraris with 100% positive feedback. I had a positive experience and a good relationship with the dealership mechanic who continued to service the car for several years after. I will glady you give you the dealer contact as a reference upon request. This amazing SLC has served me wonderfully, but alas I have had a baby and have gotten an E420 Wagon aka the "baby mobile." The car is going in for an inspection at Mercedes Benz of Sacramento on Tuesday, September 20th and I will gladly add any new information before the auction end. The car has other minor imperfections due to normal wear and is sold as is. The price is lowered taking into consideration the following: -The odometer is stuck at about 80,000 and has not worked ever since I purchased the car. -The air conditioner does not work. It was not working when I purchased the car and I have not attempted to fix this. -When you lock the car, sometimes the trunk does not lock and you have to lock it manually. In other words, although the vacuum locking system works, it is not working properly -There is a small hole in the headliner on the sun roof part. Otherwise the headliner is in perfect condition. The fact that the hole is located on the sun roof part of the headliner may make the repair cheaper than having to replace the entire headliner. -The cruise control does not work. It was also not working when I purchased the car and I have also not attempted to fix it. Otherwise, all of the bells and whistles are functioning. The lights, brights, the blinkers, the interior lights, sunroof, and the stereo are all working. Upon purchase the car will need a smog. I was able to have it pass last time it was due with some tweaking from my mechanic, nothing major. I will leave this to the new owner. This car is stunning. It has been an extremely reliable car that has lent itself as a stylish daily driver and daily driver is what you want as is good for the engine and all of its workings to be run. Cars that sit around as "Sunday drivers" tend to have all kinds of little problems from things drying out over time. This car has the looks of a Sunday driver, but it is a Work Horse! A non refundable $250 deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remaining balance is due upon pick up or before transport if you are having it shipped. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. This car is available for pick up. I will not be able to make arrangements for shipping. If you need to have it shipped I will make myself available for the pick up date. The car must be picked up within 7 days of the end of auction. THE PRICE FOR A REFURBISHED POWER STEERING BOX IS APPROXIMATELY $500. THE PRICE IS ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CAR IS BEING SOLD WITH A LEAKING POWER STEERING GEAR BOX. IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY FINDING A SLC GEAR BOX I HAVE A SOURCE THAT WILL REBUILD THE EXISTING GEAR BOX FOR APPROXIMATELY $500. IF THE CAR DOES NOT SELL IN THIS AUCTION I WILL HAVE THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX REBUILT AND THEN RELIST AT A HIGHER PRICE. THANK YOU
