For sell is a nice original 1972 FJ40. 4 wheel drive. It has been upgraded with a rebuilt 2F 4.2 liter eng. has about 1000 miles on it. Engine does not use oil or smoke. Rebuilt holly carb. Starts right up and runs smooth. Three speed manual transmission. Clutch is good. Brakes are very good. Has front disk brakes. New original Rustic green paint. New tires. New starter and solinoid. New heavy duty battery. New windshield and mldg. All other glass is in great condition. Interior is clean and nice. New headliner. New hubcaps front and rear. Many new parts such as plugs, points, condenser, plug wires, distributor cap, coil, and rotor. Has rare block heater. Has two gas tanks. I have only been using the original front one under the passenger seat. The second one is located under the back of FJ. Filler neck for it is behind the spare tire. All lights work. Has 2 speed wipers. Has original jack. Currently registered for the road. I drive it on occassion to work which is 35 miles each way. I have worked on and refurbished this while I enjoyed driving it around for the past year or so. This is not a frame off restoration but it is very nice and clean inside and out. Runs well. I maintained and fixed things as I went along. Body is rust free except for the rear quarter areas which repaired with metal diamond plate. Odometer reads 61,320 miles. The speedometer and odometer both work but I can't confirm if the mileage is accurate. Ammeter works. Fuel gauge is not accurate below 1/4 tank. Temp. gauge works but goes to "H" position when power is turned off. Original oil pressure gauge does not work well so I have installed an aftermarket gauge. Has a small dent on the back door which is hidden by the spare tire. I have the clear title in my name. FJ is registered until Aug. 2012. Deposit is non- refundable.
