I have a 1976 Porsche 911s that I bought back in 2006 with approximately 103K on the car, and then immediately had the engine rebuilt, which cost $11,000 alone. (See pics). I have put less than 2,000 miles on her since reinstalling the engine. The entire car runs very smooth; She shifts smooth, sounds smooth, and drives smooth. Despite the current condition of the body (needs painted), she's a real head-turner. I was originally going to restore the body, but I don't have time and it's just been in my garage collecting dust. The car has the following new parts since I've stopped working on her: New clutch, permatune ignition, stainless brake lines, all new front-end bushings and rear arm bushings balljoints,, new rear shocks, Battery, Hi-torque starter as the original wasn't enough for the tightness of the engine, new tan interior and that includes the carpeting, Professionally replaced post cowls as the originals were pretty rusty. Now for the bad: Engine has light seepage at the rear of the block, and it's only a sweat. (These engines, as you know, were made with two halves joined together). The body needs a paint job, as you can see. This will be a great car that can be worked on for the hobbyist while being a good daily driver, but it's being sold as-is.
