Up for sale is my 1981 VW Rabbit Pickup. The truck was completely restored at 135,000 miles and was purchased by my in 2007 in Jacksonville, FL. The truck underwent a full restoration after purchase and has been my daily driver since then and has served me flawlessly. It is a 1.6 liter diesel with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has factory A/C which does work. Everything on this truck works with the exception of the inner driving lights which I have yet to hook up. I am meticulous about maintenance and this truck shows it. I have a stack of reciepts from all the parts and maintenance done over the years. Oil has always been changed every 5000 miles with Shell Rotella 20w-50. A full tuneup was done on the truck before putting it up for sale including changing the timing and V-belts. All four tires were also replaced. Brakes are all good, the truck will pass its next inspection without issue, and I would not hesitate to drive this truck from NY to CA and back tomorrow. I average about 45 mpg and the truck has never failed to start, even in the coldest of weather. It is an absolute turn key truck. I hate to sell it but I no longer have access to a garage and can no longer maintain it how a truck of this vintage needs to be maintained. I also needed a vehicle that sat more than two people and purchased a new vehicle. My loss is your gain. These trucks are very desireable and mine receives comments all the time. Rot free! It has placed in every VW show I have showed it in and is in excellent condition for its age.
