Vehicle Detail
This 2000 Honda Accord EX has had 2 owners - first my grandmother, and currently my mother. The car needs a replacement engine. The Honda dealership we took it to said the rings were bad and a replacement engine would be cheaper than repair. The car was originally taken to a local garage because of smoke coming out of the exhaust. They replaced two valve seals and said the car was good to go. After that the car still smoked and we then took it to the Honda dealership where they gave us a print out of everything the car needed (see pictures). Aside from the obvious major issue being the engine, the Honda dealership said it needs front brakes, front sway bar links, and the fuel and brake line will need attention soon. They said the lines are rusted but are not leaking. Also, a container of clean motor oil spilled in the trunk. So without replacing the liner, it is not somewhere that you would want to store something you would not want to get oil on. Also, my mom has a dog that has ridden in the car frequently. I have gotten most of the dog hair out as sheets were always used covering the seats. The car does not smell like dog to me but I feel it should be mentioned. The car can be driven but needs a new battery. If the winning bidder wants to drive the car home I will replace the battery before pick-up. The maintenance that has been done throughout the life of the car has been regular oil changes (which really has no value now), and whatever the garage said the car needed at that particular visit. The pictures show the car pretty well. There no major or noticeable scratches on the body panels and are very nice actually. The bumper cover corners which are shown in the pictures have chips and spider-webbing. There are just a few door dings, and most importantly, there is NO RUST. This car has never been in an accident and has never had any bodywork. The interior is somewhat stained and not as nice overall as the exterior. We were going to have the car fixed ourselves by a mechanic I know and was quoted a price for a motor for $500 - $750 depending on mileage. By the time you have labor, and the other various odds and ends the car needs, we just don't have the time or money to deal with it right now so we are selling as is. On Sep-12-11 at 18:27:47 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS CAR IS A LX MODEL. I AM SORRY FOR ERROR. I DON'T KNOW WHY I THOUGHT IT WAS AN EX. THE PICTURE OF THE BACK OF THE CAR SHOWS THE LX.
