Here is one car that you don't see everyday, a 1969 Ford Galaxie XL 500 Convertible!! My dad and I purchased this at an estate sale before the summer to have a neat car for the car shows, but we just have too many cars and it is ashame to have this car sit in storage and wait to be done. So we decided to put it up on here and give it a shot. The car has had the same owner since 1975. It was his pride and joy being he was such a ford man. He made a few modifications too it through the years but in my opinion making the car better then what it was. The car was originally an automatic and was converted the correct way into a four speed stick shift. This has the desirable 429 V8 which has enough kick to get this ocean liner moving. The car also features dual exhaust which makes that nice throaty sound while running. The car has had a paint job at some point in its life and will need one again if you want it for shows. The car was repainted in laquer so it has cracking in the paint on different panels. The only rust I have seen is on each of the two doors where I guess the water collected. Also the bottom of the drivers door has two dents (the nephew tried jacking the car up by the door which also dented the fender slightly, I feel if you don't know what you are doing then don't do it) The top is power and works well, that also was replaced along the lines, it has one spot by the rear glass window which I had to put a little tape. There was something sharp in the trunk and when they put the top down at the sale it put two little pop marks in it. I have the original baby blue parade boot that goes with the car as well. The interior for being from 69 is in pretty good shape, features the super retro vinyl interior. The dash has the usual cracks and the front bench has some splits under the pillow. The vacuum headlights work as they should. I have two plastic bins of extra parts and also original parts that go with the car. I also have the original metal rims and hubs caps as the wheels were changed in the 70's to the mag style racing wheels. I believe I also have a bunch of paperwork to go with the car as well. It has 93,000 original miles, and let me tell you this car starts up everytime. The engine purrs. I am very honest when selling a car and I never hide anything so please ask any and all questions before placing a bid. The car is being sold in AS- IS condition due to its age. There is no warranty expressed or implied. My dad and I are really looking for this car to go to a good home, the gentleman who had it loved the car and she deserves to be put back on the road and enjoyed! Thank you, Schoolboy
