Vehicle Detail
Desirable early Triumph TR4. It's been a project car for me for the last few years. It's still awaiting a trip to a real body shop for final prep and paint. I purchased it from a Corvette restorer near Cincinnati. He owned it and kept it in his garage for 8 years. I rescued it so I could get it back on the road. I removed the head, replaced the valve springs, flushed the engine, installed new plug wires, cleaned the carbs, installed a new battery and high torque starter, rebuilt the slave and master cylinders, replaced the top, carpet, and seats, installed fiberglass rocker panels, replaced a few missing parts, and got it back on the road. Starts and runs pretty well. Lots of torque, good oil pressure. Still needs the brakes and clutch bled properly for better pedal feel. The floorboards and trunk are solid. Any rust through was patched in and mig welded in place, then treated with Chassis Saver (similar to Por-15)...Should be a solid driver. Frame is excellent. The valve pan gasket leaks a little and the undercarriage is oily and dirty. I just hadn't got around to cleaning it yet. The transmission is an overdrive 4 speed with OD activated in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear from the steering column. All the lights work and the battery stays charged. The horns, gas guage, and temp guage are not working. It comes with a crate of spare parts, an extra radiator, and hood with all the badges and lettering to install after paint. Note the rear fender beading was eliminated in some earlier bodywork. Comes with two spare wire wheels. Tires have very good tread, but are a little dry from storage. The title is unsigned from Indiana circa 1985. It came with the factory shop manual, workshop manual, and a restoration checklist catalogue. Please watch video. Can't believe it is still in my hometown....... This car is for local pick up only. Sold as is. Cash amount required at pick up. $500 PayPal non-refundable deposit payment due within 3 days of auction end or it will be sold to the next bidder. Email LetsRace@netacs.net for more details or to get my phone number for a better description. On Sep-03-11 at 19:41:37 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a rigid axle single exhaust model actually by the commission number, a 1964 model. It was common for vehicles to be titled at the date they were sold. The rear muffler is rusted and the tailpipe is not original. I do have a new headpipe that also goes with the sale. Bid early and often. You'll have a lot of top down fun with this car. This car should be picked up with a trailer or dolly. My longest test drive has been 15 miles at 60mph but I wouldn't recommend trying to drive it home without bleeding the brakes properly.
