Vehicle Detail
Hello, you are bidding on a 1996 Toyota Corolla DX with ~219,000 miles. The car is in great shape, runs and drives well, and was still being used as a daily driver. It is beige (champagne according to Toyota) with a tan interior. There are a few minor flaws which will be listed below, but as you know it's a Toyota, so with a little TLC it can probably go for another 200k miles. The Good: Body and paint are in pretty good shape. There is little rust for a 15 year old car, with the largest spot being under the passenger door. Minor scratches here and there, but no dents in the frame or body. Strong engine runs great and automatic transmission shifts well. Front tires are almost new, about 85% tread left Brand new brakes and rotors done on all four wheels about 15k miles ago Air conditioner works (though it could use a recharge) Interior is clean and undamaged, power windows and doors all work. Car is inspected through May 2012 The Bad: Rear tires need to be replaced ASAP, less than 5% tread left There is a chip in the windshield, see picture for approximate size. I can include a glass repair kit I've been meaning to use on it. Car has some vibration at around 70mph. Might need alignment or new tires. The Weird: Plastic frame around driver's inside door handle is cracked. Door opens and closes fine, you just have to hold the plastic while you pull the handle. This is an easy fix and an $8 part on eBay. Sometimes the ignition will just make one click when starting, but will always start on the second or third try. Missing one wheel cover The blower for the air conditioning/heat is a little weak, may be a stuck blend door. As you can see I've tried to be as descriptive as possible, but if you have any questions specifically, please ask me. FYI, some of the pictures were taken in March, but the car looks pretty much the same. The car is being sold as-is, to the highest bidder, so please serious bidders only. Payment is due within 3 days and the vehicle must be picked up within 1 week, unless otherwise arranged. Car will either be located near Summit, NJ 07901 or Jersey City, NJ 07305. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! On Aug-30-11 at 07:12:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Some extra information: As you can see from the history report, there have only been two owners: my in-laws and my wife, so the vehicle has always been in the family and its history along with maintenance records have been documented. The car still gets great gas mileage, 30-35 mpg The engine is the 1.8 liter 7A-FE, transmission is automatic 4 speed with OD The car has factory OEM paint matched trim, doorhandles, and mudflaps The true mileage is around 217,xxx. I will be uploading a picture of the odometer. On Sep-02-11 at 06:58:55 PDT, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT UPDATE: We haven't been using the car as a daily driver for a few days and it's been parked at a friend's house. When we went to check on it yesterday we found two things: It took about 8-9 tries to get it started so the starter may need to be replaced soon. When we were running it everyday it never took that long. There is a slow leak in the rear right tire (the one without the hubcap) Please bid accordingly!
