Vehicle Detail
This is a wonderful example of the desirable early-model Triumph TR6. I purchased this car from the former President of the Triumph Register of Southern California for my wife. She had never owned a convertible car, and when this superb TR6 became available we made the joint decision to fulfill her ambition, and add another classic British car to our collection. In the knowledge that my wife and children would be driving in the car, I decided to spend a considerable amount of effort ensuring that everything was in top condition mechanically, with safety a priority. The engine had been rebuilt just 5000 miles ago, and the clutch replaced at that time, so my attention turned to the drive-train. The included receipts detail the following service items attended to this past summer by my long-term British car mechanic: Replaced the Brake Master Cylinder Replace the Starter Motor with a modern Gear Reduction replacement Removed the Differential, re-sealed it, and replaced the Mounts Removed the Rear Drive Axel and replaced the U Joints Performed a Tune-Up, and replaced all Fluids This TR6 is a very original un-restored example that shows exceptionally well, and is completely rust-free. The previous owner did have the car repainted due to the original Magenta coachwork having faded over the years, and it maintains a deep shine and always attracts a lot of compliments. The engine pulls very strongly, which is typical of the earlier cars higher power output, and has a wonderful crisp exhaust note. The car tracks straight at freeway speeds, and stops sharply when required. A set of new, original specification, classic Universal Sport 185 R15 91H radial tires were fitted prior to our purchase. A high end stereo system has been installed. In short, this Triumph is in need of nothing to drive and enjoy. I’m not a dealer. I’m a regular guy who loves cars. I register and pay sales tax on every one so the title is in my name. This car has current CA plates with current registration. The description above was written by the guy I bought the car from about six months ago. This is the best driving TR6 I've ever owned and I love it. But an E-Type I know has become available and I've decided to upgrade. The opinion regarding the condition of anything other than a brand new car is subjective. To eliminate any chance of disappointment, you really should see and drive the car before buying. Call me at (650) 430-2010 and let’s make arrangements. If you are not comfortable buying a car sight unseen (perfectly understandable), then arrange for an inspection. If you’re serious about buying a car in this price range, I hope you will make the effort to pick up the phone and call Mark at 650-430-2010 to talk about the car. It seems strange to me that anyone would be willing to buy an expensive classic car sight unseen from a stranger without at least talking to him. Please only bid if you are willing to honor your bid. The winner must Paypal or wire a non-refundable deposit of $500 to my account or hand me cash within 24 hours of the auction ending or your offer being accepted. Then, when you come to pick up the car, if you did not see it before the auction ended and are disappointed in any way, you will not have to pay the balance due. However, by winning the auction, you take the car off the market and all the other bidders turn their attention to other cars.
