Vehicle Detail
This El camino is amazing in so many ways. It is absolutely 110% RUST FREE !!!!! NO undercoating on underside of car and floor pans look new. I bought this almost a week ago, I washed it and drove it a few times. I had bought it for my dad to use but unfortunately the swivel bucket seats wont work for him ( the work fine, just not for him, he is too big ) This El camino has 94,976 ORIGINAL MILES ! The factory A/C still blows cold ! Ok, there are a few condition issues, Dash pad is cracked in 3 seperate places, the paint is bad, one Corvette wheel is missing center cap, leaks a little oil when sitting ( dont know where exactly its coming from ) Transmission shift and works great but sounds like a Powerglide though it is a 3 speed automatic and windshield has a crack. I ran one of those 16th inch thick refridgerator magnets all over body and it is SOLID ! So, no bondo in body. What little bit I learned about the car from fella I bought it from is this was a desert car so I am going to assume the original paint got bad from being baked in sun that original owner (?) had it repainted and it was a bad job. Good news is, absolutely NO BODY WORK NEEDED other than sanding and repaint. Tires are near new, has brand new dual 2 1/4 inch Flowmaster's with Headers - sounds awsome ! The motor I believe is the original and is a 305 and fella I bought car from installed an Aluminum Edelbrock Intake and Edelbrock 4 bbl. Needs to be fine tuned. Excellent on gas. So much detail I just couldnt get like the headliner is MINT and Dome light looks new but is original, I didnt install it for pictures but the original wheel mounted on a new tire along with the original tire cover and all securing brackets are with car. The rear tailgate trim piece is pictured and is near mint condition as is the bed. All Impact Strips on bumpers is just amazing. This is a helluva car if you want to relive the late 70's. I remember how pretty these were when brand new, my neighbors had a dark shiny red 77 Malibu Chevelle Classic and I was just nuts about that car back in 1977. If you are going to buy one of these late 70's El camino's, mine should seriously be considered. Payment due within 7 days of auctions close, I have no problem keeping it in my driveway until you can arrange for pickup - I am easy like that and as helpful as I can be. I have described everything I know about this car, I am not going to take it apart to answer a question. You can call me at anytime to answer any questions. Thank you for looking and Good Luck !On Aug-20-11 at 08:46:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I have to make a correction about the Transmission sounding like a whiny 2 speed Powerglide, it doesnt, its perfectly fine. The sound I was hearing turned out to be the original Water Pump went out. So I put a brand new one on, NOT a remanufactured one but a brand new one and I replaced the 3 belts also. Id also like to take the time and mention a few things, please notice bed on this El camino, it is not banged up or rusted, it is the original paint and its just beautiful ! It is not Rhino Lined at all. Now if a person is interested in buying my El camino, I have a 1966 396 engine and heads match engine, that does need to be rebuilt but its a good motor and is missing Intake, Distributor, exhaust manifolds and Pulleys PLUS a newer rebuilt Turbo 400 Transmission that I can sell seperately with El camino for $1,500.00. If you'd like all 3, I can place engine and Transmission in Bed for shipping. The El camino has factory Air Shocks as well.
