It had a clean Illinois title. When I titled it in Ohio, it came up as "rebuilt salvage." After much research, I found that the bike was issued a salvage title in Missouri in 2005. I have no idea why it was salvaged. It looks good and runs/drives great. It doesn't show any signs of being wrecked. I've put approximately 1000 miles on it. The mileage on the bike is 30,000 and change. This bike runs & rides 100%. The brakes are excellent, the clutch is excellent, the engine starts right up, sounds great, and has a ridiculous amount of power. 116 horsepower to be exact. There is a ding on the right hand side exhaust pipe, the side panels and rear tail panel has been repainted a semi-gloss black. For the price and performance, you won' find a better bike for less than $2300. The tires are good, the seat isn't ripped, the gas tank is shiny, etc. The only thing I've done to this bike since I bought it was change the oil and and I replaced the fan thermostat--the stock fan doesn't turn on until approximately 220 degrees. The one I installed turns the fan on at approximately 190 degrees. I also added the luggage bags--they are included with the bike. They are easily removed if you do not want them on the bike. The bike runs cool, does not overheat, etc. It doesn't pop out of gear, the engine doesn't make any bad sounds, etc. It has zero mechanical problems--I don't know how else to describe it. I put over 100 miles on it yesterday. I would not hesitate to drive it to California right now, as is. If you want a brand new bike, you'll have to go and spend many thousands at your local dealer. If you want to own an older performance legend for a fraction of the cost, you won't be disappointed with this bike.
