Vehicle Detail
Dakota 4x4 The only reason I am selling it is financial problems. This is a stout little truck. It runs good and is very dependable. It always starts, doesn't smoke, knock or tick. The A/C blows cold. The transmission shifts nicely. The 4x4 works as it should. It has a nice mellow dual exhaust. - This is a dry West Texas Truck NO RUST ! The tires are good. The brakes are good, The shocks are good. Everything Works!! Automatic Transmission Power Windows Power Locks Cruise Control Power Mirrors Overhead Console, Compass / Outside Temp"Storage 4x4 Extended cab with Jump Seats / Storage Compartments A/C Tow package with receiver and brake controller New windshield / all other glass good Good chrome, good plastic, straight body I had this truck for picking things up at Home Depot or garage sales, that type of thing. When I bought the truck, it needed paint very badly. So before I painted it, I took it in and had them check it out. They said compression was good and even, it runs good, smoothly, and does everything the way it should . There were no lights or codes that show anything wrong. The previous owner told me the engine had been rebuilt at 155k miles. I don't know him but I believe it because there is no smoke, knock tick or other indicator that would show wear (plus the compression is all 155-165!) So there I was with a great truck that was ugly. The paint was all faded and peeling off. The body was straight. Now here is where the story gets bad. I decided that since it didn't need any body work (see before photo) That I would paint it myself... bad move. Even though I bought the expensive correct color paints it turned out horribly. I spent $300 on paint and clearcoat. The paint actually went on nicely ( I used a friends HVLP gun) The problem is the clearcoat, it looks splotchy and rough. you could make it look a lot better if you gave the truck a light sand and shot an even coat of clear over it. Even though the paint job was a disapointment, it still looks good from 25 feet so it serves my purposes nicely. There are a couple of other problems with the truck. The side of the drivers seat is torn, and the headliner is sagging. The rest of the interior is nice, no cracks or other tears The second problem is the gas gauge doesn't work so I use the trip meter. Overall, it is a great, reliable clean truck that looks better than most all other trucks this old. Here are the new items I put on in the past 4 months. Brand new windshield 4 months ago plugs, cap, wires, rotor New paint! (lol) I really wish we could keep it for the times my wife goes garage saleing or when I need something big, unfortunately I need the money more. Good Luck. I am new to ebay so if you have any questions or want to come look at the truck just give me a call (720) 237-9224 I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction close and full payment within 7 days of auction close.
