Vehicle Detail

1977 WESTFALIA CALIFORNIA POP TOP CAMPER (moved it to New Mexico 3 years ago)130,700 original miles10,000 miles (nicely broken in) on new Tuttle 2.0L pancake, fuel-injected manual engine (2008) Excellent tranny, clutch, brakes, fuel pump, ignition, tires (5000 mi. on new ones). No known mechanical problems. Starts right up and runs strongly and consistently. This is a high and dry, nice and tight, clean and pristine, non-smoking (never!) classic in wonderful condition. No mould or rodents - ever. Icebox, dry storage and sink edition (no stove). I don't know if sink works - never have used it. External electric hook-up port. Internal auxiliary power plugs (no battery). Has radio/tapedeck and mounted speakers, though wiring needs to be hooked up. All signals and lights work. Left rear side running light lens needs to be replaced ($7) New Hemp/cotton 3-window pop top installed 2006 in excellent condition (just a few rain and grease stains - otherwise perfect) New captain's chairs for driver and passenger installed 2007 in matching original fabric. New cargo and front passenger carpet 2008. (perfect condition)Comes with Front Steel Roll Bar installed by first owner. COMES WITH ORIGINAL: Rear bug screen (perfect condition)Children's cot (stored under couch, never used)Front privacy curtainExtendable table top All original curtains and upholstery in (good condition with mild wear and some fading) Screens (all intact) Electric hook-up cable (never used, brand new condition)All seat belts in perfect working conditionPop top cover in pristine condition, inside and outVeneer on cabinetry has the typical wear and usual "peel" that all these vans have going on, but nothing major First owner 1977-1987. Since 1987, regularly and lovingly maintained by different members of my own family - I have all service/repair documents. Yup, she is dinged and dented due to many wonderful adventures, fishing trips and vision quests, but no accidents. Frame is straight and narrow. She's the real thing and she has been regularly exercised her entire life. Superficial, here and there rust, no rust-throughs anywhere. Largest superficial rust spot under right rear cargo window, has been treated. Original paint has fading and weathering. Parked in garage throughout its history. The usual small and on-going fix-its needed for rigs this age (like tightening the driver's side rear-view mirror, that sort of thing). Seals around windows are old, but no leaks anywhere and no cracks in windows. The lower guide for the sliding door does need to be repaired. The metal guide just below the door handle simply wore out with use. Opening and closing the door must be done very, very gently, but, once in the guide, the door glides beautifully. Upper slider is in excellent condition with new ball bearings and thorough grease job. PURCHASE INCLUDES: 2 extra gas caps2 extra fan belts and belt tightener2 extra pedal covers1 extra large channel lock wrench1 extra front headlightService ManualGo-Westy clutter catch unit between front seats2 plastic camping levelers 2 New rubber seals for driver and passenger doors (need installation)Sheepskin cover for driver's seatMounted fire extinguisherDashboard cover in perfect conditionHeavy duty rubber mud mat This is a great classic in very good, "get in and go," condition. You can come pick it up and plan on camping in it all the way home. Ganesha and much sweet incense have blessed her journeys and I hope the person with the same kind of spirit will take her. I do not "need" to sell. I am spending an extended period of time abroad and want to reduce the amount of "stuff" I have. NO warranties, NO refunds and NO guarantees. Please ask all the questions you want before bidding. Sold AS IS. Buyer is responsible for any shipping costs/arrangements or pick up (though I am happy to help out if I can getting it to a shipping center or picking a fly-in, drive out up from the airport). $1000 deposit required within 48 hours of close of auction. I will send title/registration once all payment has cleared.
