The S-Type is a four-door, five seat, mid-sized luxury sedan.
The name is a revival of a previous Jaguar model, the S-Type introduced in 1963, while the bodywork appears to have been inspired by the Jaguar Mark II. It is a stately sedan that could never be mistaken for any thing other than a Jaguar. The car shares the same platform as the Lincoln LS of that year but the S-Type was produced at Jaguar's facility in England using mostly Jaguar-specific components. The early S-Types (1999-2002) are distinguishable by having the Jaguar logo on the bonnet above the radiator grille, and a U-shaped center console inside. The S-Type is rear wheel drive and equipped with a 5-speed J-Gate Ford 5R55N automatic transmission. The 4.0 sedan uses a 4.0-liter Jaguar V8.
This car rivals the BMW 5-Series,Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Lexus GS 300/400.

The areas that will require attention are:
A slight engine tick and some exhaust smoke
The transmission has to be put into manumatic to start but it shifts fine in
automatic afterwards
Minor dent in the driver’s door
Road rash/paint chipping on the lower front
The ashtray cover doesn’t close
Our low reserve price reflects the current condition of the car. This vehicle has been in our collection since 2008 and not driven, only repositioned on our lot. We recommend a full mechanical inspection before driving long distances.
