It is similar to the XK8's engine, but the XKR features a huge Eaton M112 supercharger, and twin air-to-liquid intercoolers. The XKR can be differentiated by twin hood louvers, 18-inch "Double Five" wheels, a subdued rear spoiler lip, a mesh grille, and special emblems. The louvers, located midway between the nose and windshield, draw heat away from the engine and reduce aerodynamic lift at the front of the car. When prodded, the XKR responds with breathtaking acceleration. Yet it can crawl through miles of snarled traffic without raising the temperature gauge. The supercharged V8 develops 387 foot-pounds of torque, fully available from just 3600 rpm, which provides the XKR with effortless response to throttle movement. At just 1600 rpm, the supercharged engine is already producing more torque than the XK8's naturally aspirated V8 generates at its peak. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and charges to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The XKR convertible was priced at $87,000 (new), including a range of standard features you might never be able to live without. It has acres of gorgeous wood trim, a CD changer, leather everywhere, and power everything. The sole option (which this car has), is a DVD-based navigation system, with enough information to blanket the U.S. on a single disc. The high performance brakes and a comprehensive handling package are found only on the XKR. The anti-lock braking system has been revised to the Electronic Stability Braking System and the front disc brake rotors have been enlarged. Please take your time and check out all the pictures of this nice Supercharged V8 Jaguar. First, this is a rust-free California car. It runs strong and all electrical components work as they should. This car has silver paint, and the body and interior on this car are in MINT condition, with minimal wear and tear for a car of this age. (Please keep in mind that this is a used vehicle and will have a few minor defects.) The rims are alloy 18-inch "Double Five" XKR rims with 255/45ZR18 tires on the rear, and 245/45ZR18's up front. All four tires have less than 6,000 miles on them. This XKR has never been smoked in and always garaged, with no winter driving. It has been professionally maintained at Piehler Jaguar in Webster, NY. It has only been driven to and from my country club on nice days. I am a 68-year old retired physicist who has enjoyed this fine vehicle for three years and now is the time to pass the legend on to the next Jag enthusiast. .
