Vehicle Detail
This Buick Century has an exceptionally clean body. The trunk and cockpit floors are sound with only light surface rust in spots. The body has only one area of rust and that is on the driver's side rocker panel where mud would collect. Its about the size of a nickle and in an area that's very easy to repair. There is also rust in one of the bumper bullets that bolt onto the rear bumper. I have a nice pair of replaements that go with the car. The body has no major dents and only a few small dings. The stainless is real nice. The windshield and rear window are in excellent shape, however I believe its the passenger side door that has a crack. Its's flat glas that's easy to replace. The car has nice front and rear seats upholstery, but will need carpet, headliner and the door panels recovered. The suspension has had the springs removed to install air bags, but that work was not done. The engine and transmission are out of the car as well. Both operated, but I really don't know much about them except that I drove it off of the delivery truck's trailer and into my garage. It's the original 364 and powerglide. It will need a drive shaft and torque tube as it was cut to remove the engine and transmission. I had plans to use a 425 nailhead and 700R4 and was going to go with an open driveline. I can point you to a replacemet driveshaft and torque tube if you desire. The tires brand new radials. The springs have been removed to install an air ride suspension, but this work was not done and no air ride parts are included in this auction. You will not be disappointed with the body of this unique vehicle for restoration or to build as a custom. Bid to win it as the reserve is low and I plan to move this car. The picture of the red '58 is NOT the car that's for sale. It is just an example of how it can be built. On Aug-10-11 at 20:31:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I pulled the car out of my storage building and noticed 2 things that I did not remember when writing the description. 1) There are two other minor rust spots. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow. Rust thru the size of a 50cent piece on the passenger rocker towards the rear, and a rust thru spot on the drivers side fender wheel well down towars the rocker that's about 1/2-inc wide bu 1-inch long. Still minor. This is NOT a rusty car. Sediment must have settled there. 2) I stated that one of the rear bumper bullets had rust thru, but infact both do. If you look closely on the pictures, you can see both sides. Regardless, I have two nice replacement bullets that go with the car. Just wanted to have full disclosure as I did not remember those being on the car.
