Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1968 Fiat 850 Coupe. There were very few of these imported. It has a 100G (843cc) rear engine and an idroconvert transmission. It has 38,080 original miles on it. I bought it about 15 years ago at an estate sale in Oklahoma. It had been stored in a barn, out of the weather. The clutch was out at the time so we couldn't drive it. We rebuilt it about 3 years ago. The starter was rebuilt & the linkage on the transmission had work done on it at a professional transmission shop in Wichita, KS. I bought a new set of tires. It was tagged, insured, & on the road in Kansas. It was inspected at that time going from one state to another. The blinkers, tail lights, headlights, are all in working order. I put about 4,000 miles on it while I had it. It is a blast to drive! Everything on it is original. We bypassed the fuel pump and installed an electric one. The old one is a manual type & we couldn't find one. The interior is in exceptional condition. The floor mats are brittle and have some cracks but they're all there. The seatbelts, ashtrays, etc. are all intact. It still has the original tool kit & jack. There is no spare. I have some manuals that I will throw in that will tell you everything you need to know about this car. The next thing on my agenda was a new paint job. It has the original paint. There are some dings & paint chips. The only rust is where the paint has chipped in the last couple of years. I didn't have a garage to store it in although it was under a carport for most of the last 2 years. There is a spot on the roof where it has oxidized or possible overspray. It was there when I bought the car so I can't be sure. I will show it in the pictures. I am located in Eufaula, OK. We are about 12 miles from the crossroads of I-40 & US 69, right between Muskogee & McAlester. I will assist in shipping as far as meeting a shipping company or truck & giving directions if need be. Any shipping set up and/or charges are the sole responsibilty of the buyer. The winning bidder will deposit $500 via Paypal within 48 hours of auction end. The balance will be paid with a cashier's check or cash is always nice! I'm sorry but no personal checks. On Aug-09-11 at 14:06:27 PDT, seller added the following information: ****I made a mistake on the description. The car has a standard 4 speed transmission. The manual I have covers the idroconvert transmission but it was not installed on this car. My apologies. On Aug-12-11 at 08:39:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had e-mails from people wanting pictures of the undercarriage & under the floor mats. The undercarriage has the coating flaking off but no holes or major rust. I tried pulling up the floor mats. They are brittle as I said in the description. There is a liner under the floor mats that is also brittle. I didn't want to pull it all apart. I have pictures of both under the mats & the undercarriage. Unfortunately after there are bids on an auction, you cannot change or delete the description or pictures. I was told to send them through regular e-mails instead of ebay e-mail. PLEASE only serious buyers send me your ebay id & your regular e-mail address & I will try to send you the extra pictures I have. Please give me enough time before the auction ends. Another question I had was about the transmission. I took it to Chance Transmissions in Wichita, KS to have it worked on about 3 years ago. The linkage needed adjusting. Right now it is hard to get into reverse. All the forward gears are fine & shift easy, it's just the reverse. I believe the linkage needs adjusting again.
