Vehicle Detail

This was my fathers Oldsmobile! My father purchased this car in 1960 from the original owner. It was gifted to me in 2002...this car received a full frame off restoration completed in 2004. I have photos of the vehicle during the restoration process available upon request....will send via fax or scan. This vehicle was restored. The original motor and transmission were overhauled. All original sheet metal was refinished. Refinished chrome front and rear bumpers. The grill is in it's original condition. The mileage is unknown. There were some areas where minor alterations where made. Some of these areas should be noted if this vehicle is intended for show. Judges would consider these items in their evaluation. Those include: Behind the Folding Bench Seat ( shown in pictures 12 & 13) a hidden storage area was created. Access can be gained by folding forward the drivers seat. Shelf and vinyl covering conceals area and can be secured via swivel clasp. Screws in trim molding. (shown in picture 14) Interior trim screws used 1936 were not re-usable. At the time of restoration current stainless ones were used. Running Boards (shown in picture 16) The original Running Boards could not be re-used. The original boards were rubber/ribbed to disperse water and were heated. During the restoration the framing was re-done and covered with a flat heavy rubber type material. A battery charging point was created. (shown in picture 18) Underneath the car...for easy access a charging area was created. This provides easier access for charging or hooking a battery tender to maintain consistent charge to the 6 volt battery. There is no exterior rust present. This vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident since 1960. A small scratch exists on the rear of the car. It's located just below the bottom line of the closed trunk. It's approximately 3 inches in length and does show the sheet metal. I consider it to be minor...but do feel it should be noted. This vehicle is in good running order. No leaks. Starts every time. The 8 cyl is a beast. Speedo works, odo does not. All exterior running lights work. Included in the picture group is the Country horns which also work very well and are loud. All windows work and tires are like new. Gas guage is not exactly correct....when it shows a quarter of a tank, it's almost empty. There is no warranty either expressed nor implied with this sale. There is no return. This vehicle is being sold "AS-IS" with any and all faults. All known deficiencies have been noted. Any deposit or payments of any kind are non-refundable. A clear title will be provided when final payment has been received and verified. Vehicle can be collected at buyers residence when balance is received and verified. Shipping cost is buyers expense. Seller can make recommendations for enclosed carrier based on buyers location. Own a piece of history. In 1936...the year from which this car was built depicts a time that progress, hope and determination lived in the hearts and souls of Americans. In 1936 Jesse Owens won four Gold Medals for the United States in Berlin during the Olympic Games. The top book that year was "Gone with the Wind", Roosevelt defeated Landon in the greatest landslide in US history, and the Yankees beat the New York Giants in the first Subway Series...Joe DiMaggio was a rookie that year. May 27th the Queen Mary departed on her maiden voyage. "Mutiny on the Bounty" won Best Picture" and Elvis Presley was born in 1936 in a two room house in Tupelo Mississippi. This 1936 Oldsmobile EIGHT Business Coupe represents the quality, pride and the spirit of America during that time. As much like the pride existed for the workers that built this car new, our comittement to it's restoration held the same love for quality, pride and the Spirit of America. I look forward to hear from you and good luck.
