Vehicle Detail
I have open for bid a 1959 Nash Metropolitan Series 1500 Hardtop HT. I acqured this Metropolitan with an estate I purchased. I feel this car represents an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to restore one of these for a number of reasons. It is very straight with very limited rust. I have only been able to find two very small areas of rust. One is on the lower rear corner of the driver's door (see picture). Also a small rust area behind the pasenger's seat (see picture). The metal in the trunk area looks new. By that I am saying new as from the factory NOT replaced. The front floor boards are excellent with minor surface rust in a few small areas. The engine compartment looks like it has been sand / glass blasted and either powder coated or enamal painted (very nice condition. Glass - All glass is in very good condition. Bumpers - Are also in very good condition, with the exception of the bumper guards on what I think is the front bumper. (I don't know very much about Metropolitans.) New or redone parts. - fan blades and pullies - motor mounts (might be the transmission mounts) - support brackets - coil mount - brakes (box of Lucas) - valves (modwog) - gasket set (BMC) and New!!! Metropolitan front insignia. * Notice - Many bags of nuts / bolts, wiring connectors, wiring harnesses (one looks like a new wiring harness.) Parking light and other small accessories lighting wiring. * I found what looks like two license plate type holders and two different type heaters. As expressed, I am certainly not a Metropolitan or other car expert. I have gone through the entire car and boxes and tried to identify as well as possible. I have tried to take pictures of everything so you may have a good idea of what is there. Car is exactly as I found it. Please review all the pictures carefully. I have a clear Oregon Title. Thanks for your interest. Winning bidder is responsible for packaging, pickup and shipping. $350.00 deposit must be received within two days of end of auction. Balance of money and pickup within seven days.On Aug-13-11 at 13:19:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I have tried to take some pictures of the frame which looks in very good condition. As stated before, I did find rust behind the passenger's seat and that panel will need replaced ( I do show pictures). The only other rust I found was in the driver's side door as shown (again in pictures).
