1962 XKE CONVERTIBLE REBUILT ENGINE NEW FLOORS This is a VERY DESIRABLE EARLY XKE. It has all matcing numbers. It has new factory floors front and back on both sides. The front floors have heel wells as from the factory. It has a rebuilt engine with OUTSTANDING COMPRESSION as follows: starting at the firewall with number 1 cylinder: 1-162 2-168 3-168 4-165 5-166 6-167 This compression is indicative of a rebuilt engine. The engine only has about 20 miles on it and the compression should get even better with a few more miles on it. The car runs strong. The gearbox shifts excellently. The clutch and brakes work well. The rear end has been rebuilt as well. The trunk bottom is solid. The bonnet hinge points are excellent. The bonnet is very solid and the valence under the hole in the nose is undented. New exhaust down pipes. Steering wheel wood needs refurbishing. Missing only radio console and air cleaner setup. The car has had an inexpensive paint job and looks presentable, but should be repainted to be really nice. The interior needs work. This is a very desirable early car with matching numbers, new floors, rebuilt engine with excellent oil pressure and excellent compression, great shifting gearbox, and rebuilt rear end, needing cosmetics.
