Vehicle Detail
1973 Honda CB350F (Four cylinder). This bike got 1st Place in the "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle" catagory at the 2008 AHRMA sponsored Sandia Motor Speedway show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The trophy plaque is included in this buy. It has been in storage for about 4 years. I am only the 2nd owner of this Texas bike, and have owned it for about 13 years. I have a CLEAR TITLE! All parts in the restoration/maintenence of this bike are NOS/Genuine Honda parts, including the exhaust pipes...not reproduction nor aftermarket. Only the tires are not orignal, although it is a vintage style tread and the seat was professionaly re-covered on the original pan, by Sargent Co. in the vintage pattern. Mileage on odometer is not correct as it is a replacement unit. It showed about 12,500 miles when purchased but the original odometer was not working. I rode once in a while and only on weekends on local jaunts, no rides over 50 miles. It shifts fine, and revs very nicely, no smokey pipes. It is NOT running only because it has been in storage, indoors in very dry conditions (located in El Paso, Texas...). This bike has always run smoothly, started on 1st or second kick (has electric start, too!). Buyer will have to do a minor tune-up and change fluids as well as go over the carbs, just to be meticulous as most of us with vintage machines are. Tank and side covers were painted and pinstriped professionally, I used an NOS side cover to match the Bacchus green color as close to original as possible. The tank and side cover badges are NOS and are like new. The "flaws" include minor dents to the front fender, where the original owner hit the back side of the fender when removing the spark plugs plus a tiny ding on one of the fork covers. There is light pitting on chrome on: the rear fender, tail light bracket and passenger grab rail and handlebars. I opted NOT to "fix" or re-chrome these as it is part of the bike's character. There are minor oil seeps but no dripping. This motor has never been cracked open other than the engine cover to replace the clutch. Some of the rubber around the carbs and airbox is quite hard from age, but not cracked and it is all there. There are some dents on the pipes, with one being worst than the others as it was found at a Seattle bone yard. I attached the muffler to the header pipe myself years ago and it has never failed in any way. There is some faded paint on the frame and swing arm, again, I choose not to touch that. This is a wonderful old machine for someone who can appreciate the intrictate motor, the charisma of this particular bike and I hope it does not get parted out! It is being sold as-is for $2800.00 and worth every penny. Also includes the underseat tool-box, complete NOS tools and pouch and Honda service manual. Deposit of US $500.00 within 48 hours of auction close is required. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. Buyer is responsible for pickup in El Paso, or shipping arrangements and costs. I am happy to respond to any questions.
