Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1994 Ford E350 Club Wagon XLT that was converted in Fort Bragg, Ca. into a Adventurewagen by Ed Anderson in 1994 These are somewhat rare, as he worked with the VW Vanagons for these conversions from the 60's until they're U.S. demise in 1991 and then he switched to the Ford's from 1991-2001 and someone once heard him say that after converting the Fords he would never go back to the VW's ...There is info on the internet to research these as they are far superior to factory job's as he did these by hand with the best wood materials Teak, Mahogany, Parquet (Oak) Floors, Etc. Here is the data sheet, it tells all... "New" K&N Airfilter Original receipts & Manuals also included. & I do have the solar shower & curtain that came with my '98 that I may be willing to throw in if the bid goes high enough since I already bought one of the Coleman Hotwater outdoor shower systems (I bought it before finding the '98) Negatives: O/D Knob is loose and moves around. Still functions fine by pushing the button on or off but is annoying. Some surface rust on the undercarriage. Appears it had originally had a protective coating applied to it. Looks like it spent some time on the east coast even though I bought it in California. Body has no dents but has blemishes some of which the previous owners tried to doctor up using similar paints. Starts right up & runs strong. No leaks. This is the heavy duty One Ton so you have your towing ability & it gets suprising decent mileage. Reason for selling: I purchased this in Santa Monica, Ca. and figured we would have a long life together. I put $3300 into it at Johnnie Walker R.V. here in Las Vegas (have all receipts) for the DeeZee running boards (didn't like the cheesy cheap looking silver one that we're on it, two Trojan 125 batteries (had it converted back to the original that Ed Anderson put in 'em as someone had stuck a single 12V Deep Cycle in the box), 80W Solar with Digital Read-Out as it had the original dual 30W that were long in the tooth, installed a Fan-Tastic Fan & had 'em chase down and fix all the wiring issues as I wanted every light to work etc. as there were three that didn't come on, put $1500.00 in Tires in Rims at Discount Tire (as it had the orignal rims & silver hub caps and '03 tires on it) & then had my guys at Acme Tint, tint all the vehicle's windows. I recently retired (last week) and have a lot more time to surf the internet & located one I think I'll like a little better so I flew to Santa Rosa & bought a 98' Ford Adventurewagen extended body with a 6.8L (More Storage & towing ability but worse mileage) & drove it 700 miles home. & "Boy, do I love these things." I've become a big fan in a short time & even joined the Yahoo Group Web Site. I have a Chinook Concourse Motorhome but, these are perfect self contained, enviromentally friendly, easy to drive quality vehicles that are a nice change & I've found we rarely use the generator when camping & I'm not a big fan of the constant propane flame & having to keep the darn thing level all the time. The refrigerator runs off 12V which elimanates having to get the van level like you do with the propane which makes it that much easier & with the solar constantly charging & also the vehicle when runnging charging the Trojan batteries you have unlimited camping abilities. I put more aggressive tires on both the AW's as I love the look & also to get to off the beaten path camp sites, lakes & streams as we enjoy kayaking. Another thing that sets this style of vehicle apart from most motorhomes or similar vans is the visuals & the venting. As you can see there are full windows all over the place making it easy to see out while driving or as a passenger to see what passes by on both sides can be priceless where other vans/motorhomes have their kitchen, or a tiny window or just a wall in the way this gives you the full visual treatment & they're all tinted so you don't have the bright sun light or heat coming through. The other is how well vented this van is. You have the two large side windows that pop open as well as the two rear door windows (which Ford stopped doing with the '95 model) and then in the upper section you have two separate side windows that wind open on each side, the rear has one, too and of course the sun roof that pop open or is completely removeable ( I mean how rare is that in a Van/RV as you can enjoy looking at the stars while sitting on the bench seat or laying in bed, and finally the cealing fan that not only opens but produces air. Yes, It's all covered with this one. No stone unturned. Wife won't let me keep both although I make a good argument keeping this one down at our second house on the coast of Oregon. Email for any questions or phone number if you want to talk in person before bidding. It is also available to be test driven anytime as I said I'm now retired & have plenty of time on my hands. Anyway, Good Luck! Terms: $500 due through paypal within 24 hours of close & final payment due within 7 days by Cash, Paypal, Wire Transfer, Personal or Certified Check-Checks must clear before title is released. I've had a few requests to the see the dash portion so since I'm having trouble sending my pictures through email I'll change out a few of the current ones. On the first dash picture it shows the dash with the drink holders closed & the second with them open as there is one that also has the ash tray that slides out when you want to use it and the other is the storage area of the engine cover that also has two drink holders that fold up & back when the door is open. I've included a picture of the manuals & a picture of the iluminated level gauge. I've had questions on the seats and carpet. The seats have no rips, tears or stains but, the carpet in between the seats has a few small black oil drops from when my son used it for a week when his car was down. Looks like he set a part down there. Wife thinks she can get it out although she hasn't tried yet. Anyway keep the questions coming as I know from experience how it is to buy & sell a vehicle on line and although I consider myself lucky for the most part as I've bought 8 or 9 online over the years & sold about 4-5, so I've been on both sides, I was burned on a couple of older cars, both sub 80's models, which is why I now stay away from older cars if I can't get down there to look. Wanna talk in person, feel free to call Scott at (702) 218-8547 A few excerpts from the brochure written by Anderson: 2. THE MARK VIII EXTENDED ROOF DESIGN There are several important features included in the design of the Mark VIII top that you won't see while admiring it's sleek outer shell. First, as you would suppose, it provides standing space inside (6' 1 1/2"). The top also provides ample storage space, over nine square feet of screened and ceiling ventilation, insulation, and both natural light and artificial illimination. In addition, the Mark VIII top is designed to accept and support two environmentally friendly options: The optional solar water heating system for the shower, and the optional solar generator. It is also possible to order a 11V AC air conditioner. It would be located in the top rear with its outside vent replacing the rear window of the Mark VIII top. In 1965 we were the first company in America to produce a streamlined rigid fiberglass extended rood for a van type vehicle. The original idea was well received by the public and has been copied and mimicked in the RV industry ever since. The special features and advantages of the Mark VIII top are described above and in various places within this brochure. They are well proven--the result of our own extensive experience in designing, building, and using or products. 3. THE IDEAL FLOORPLAN Having decided that the new-generation Ford Regular Club Wagon XLT would be an excellent base vehicle for our own new-generation Mark VIII conversion, we evaluated various floorplan possibilities for the space available. After careful consideration and comparison of the pros and cons of each, we concluded that our traditional floorplan, proven successful for three decades, was still the best overall. This floorplan has remained consistent in every production Adventurewagen ever built. Four of it's most important advantages are: a. Lateral weight distribution is equally balanced. b. Cooking and refrigerator access is possible from either inside or outside. c. Excellent visibility for the driver and passengers. d. Rear sear passengers face forward. 4. AERODYNAMICS, WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION, AND ROADABILITY-The Adventurewagen Mark VIII was disigned with safety in mind. Its evenly balanced weight distribution and the smooth, streamlined shape of its raised roof design favors excellent roadability under all driving conditions. Any motorhome will handle well enough when there is little or no wind and the highway is smooth and fairly straight. Under realistic conditions, however, the winds sometimes blow hard and the roadway can be rough, bumpy, and curvy. These are conditions under which a vehicle's true roadability can be evaluated. In January 1992, shortly after Ford's introduction of their new-generation Club Wagon, MOTOR TREND published a test evaluation comparing it with several other "truck-type" vehicles. The Club Wagon won the competition and was selected to receive MOTOR TREND's highly coveted "Truck of the Year" award (Jan. 1992 issue). An important part of the MOTOR TREND evaluation, and one directly related to handling qualities, was the Club Wagon's respectable score in the slalom test. ETC. The brochure goes on for a total of 28 points on why this AW is a dynomite rig. I just got tired of typing it but, you get the picture.
