Vehicle Detail

1987 Grand Wagoneer "Estate Wagon" 360-V8, Auto, 4X4 . Beautiful royal blue paint (maybe the most desirable color on a Woody like this). All original. No lift, big tires, tinted windows, etc… Have paperwork and clear title (paid cash). It's never been in a road salt environment (always in Washington State). Check the Carfax, never been in an accident, super clean history. 104k miles and it starts/runs like a top. Brand new tires (top of the line Toyo) and shocks. Power everything plus - factory air, towing package and moon roof! There are a few small dings (see pictures) on the body but NO rust. Want to know what these are worth with a little more TLC? Google; www.wagonmaster.com (we don't have the time…). Thanks for looking. We bought this six months ago for the purpose of pulling a 1969 Airstream which is my wife's catering business. The two look very nice together. The problem is, the Airstream has an extended tongue with two 6500 watt generators on it which gives the Airstream way over 1,000lb hitch weight. Making the Wagoner's rear suspension stiff enough to be level with the trailer loaded would take a lot of work (not just airbags) and make the unloaded ride in the Jeep awful. Not to mention screwing up a from the factory 100% original, very clean Wagoneer. We also have a 1-ton diesel truck, so that's going to remain the tow vehicle… If you look at Wagonmasters, super clean low miles Wagoneers like this go for $30,000.00+. This one has too many miles to command that price, but it is in great (not perfect) condition, totally complete and has zero rust. It still has the original factory floor mats in it. And this thing has every option Jeep had to offer that year. Look at the chrome trim, the wood inlay on the luggage rack, power moon roof, power doors, seats, windows, power rear window, power mirrors, etc…, etc… And all of those things work. The engine has been de-smogged. So it is a V8 that actually runs like one. I have all the smog equipment that came off it, in a box. If you're looking for a nice weekend Estate Wagon or a classy one to pull your horse trailer (without spending $30k) - this is it! Known issues: (1) There are a couple of dents/scratches which are shown in the pictures. (2) It's a little cold-blooded but once it's warmed up, it starts and runs perfectly. (3) There is a small leak in the rear which I think is the lower gasket wiper on the rear window. (4) You have to close the rear gate hard to make it totally latch. 2, 3 and 4 may be fixed before you get it, depending on when it sells. But those do describe the current condition. And hey, that's not bad for 24 years old!
