1956 Corvette Up for bid is a very nice 56. This car represents an excellent street driver. Perfect to use on the street on a regular basis. Only 1,500 miles since most of the work has been done on the car. Please read on for more particulars of the car: Body/Paint: The body is original with no hits. The car was painted a couple of years ago with no visible signs of damage when preping for paint. The body has been slightly altered with wiper holes filled as well as the exhaust hole on each rear fender. The wiper motor mechanism is detached under the dash. The front fender air humps were also removed. These items were done way back in the day and it was decided to leave them the way they are when painted recently. The paint is Torch red base/clear and is beautiful. Lots of blocking and sanding was done providing an excellent surface for paint. Interior: The interior is custom and looks great. The seats were recently redone, including new springs, in 2010 along with new carpet. No heater, old SW gauges. Running Gear: The engine is a freshly rebuilt 57 283 with a 30/30 Duntov cam and runs excellent. Eldelbrock 650 car, headers. The trans is a 57 4 speed with a new clutch installed recently. Both work as they should with the car in excellent running condition. The rear end is original to the car. Original radiator, new shroud not installed, with flex fan and electric pusher fan, 1 wire alternator. Suspension: The frame is original and with the car having a body off in the past. The frame was painted in the past when the car was done prior to owning the car. New dueled exhaust with Magna Flow mufflers and sound excellent. Bumperettes have a chrome tip tacked in with exhaust exiting below the car. Old school traction bars. Brakes are original and in very good working condition. Bright work: The door pillars have been rechromed and the grill teeth replaced. The rest of the chrome and stainless is very nice and presentable. Top: The top was done a number of years ago and has shrunk some so has a little difficulty getting locked down. The top is in good condition. Glass: New windshield with the rest of the glass being original. Wheels/Tires: The tires are Coker wide whites 205/75 R15 and are new with only 1,500 miles on them. Nice wire wheels, brand unknown. Summary: The car represents a very nice driver Corvette for driving on a regular basis. It has been a multiple show winner at local car shows and gains its share of attention. It is clean runs like a sewing machine. Just enough power to have a good time with reliability. Chevrolet made only 3500 or so so they are rare. Most are restored to the point where they become trailer queens only so if you are looking for a nice clean driver to have a good time with don't miss out on this nice street vette.
