Vehicle Detail
I’ve owned this awesome, beautiful, great-running 1964 Mercury Parklane Super Marauder 4-door hardtop for 4 years. This was a one-owner vehicle, originally placed into service in salt-free Montana. It is now time to part ways with it, to help pay for further education for my son. It will be a bittersweet farewell. Speaking of ‘bittersweet’ - this beautiful, straight, rust-free Merc still sports most of its original, glossy, rare bittersweet paint. It has its original interior, original drive train, original build sheet, and the original trunk liner (still there and in good shape). This is a very complete, well-taken-care of, fine-running vehicle. The vehicle has the following features/options: 390 CI Super Marauder Engine Merc-O-Matic transmission Air conditioning Power steering Power brakes - work great, as they did in the 60's Radio Padded visors Padded dash Super Marauder wheel covers with spinners 8-Track player add-on Since I’ve owned it, I’ve had replaced or rebuilt: Brake shoes Carburetor Mufflers and tailpipes Spark plugs/wires Battery Tune-Up I have not had the car repainted – I buffed it, waxed it, and it looks great. The condition is as follows: Body – excellent Paint – good/excellent Brakes – excellent (work great) Trim – good/excellent Drive train – excellent Interior – very good Carpet – good – a little worn in back where passengers would get in (front is excellent, as it was protected by floor mats) Dash pad – excellent – no cracks, no warping, not sun-rotted Seats – good Headliner – good Full disclosure: The radio buzzes only. I haven't checked the air conditioner lately - last year, it blew nice cold air. The power steering pump leaks. The front seat where the driver sits has several tears (I’ve priced replacement original fabric from SMS at $450). Left rocker has a minor crease (no paint loss), right rocker panel has small dent underneath (see pics) The right-side door middle panels have been repainted due to a scrape many years ago – some chip spots are evident. I would absolutely not hesitate to drive this car across the country. NADA’s definition of “average retail value” is as follows: Average Retail Value This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer". This car is much better than the definition stated above. Because of the few minor items mentioned, I have the vehicle’s modest reserve price set considerably below the NADA average retail value. Please check out my feedback and bid with confidence. I will only sell to the 48 continental United States. I will accept a certified check from a major bank as payment. A $500 deposit is due within 3 days after the auction closes, the remainder due before the vehicle is shipped. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Please call John at 402-630-3478 with questions, and good luck!
