Vehicle Detail
I’ve owned this beautiful 1964 25th Anniversary Mercury Montclair Marauder 4-door hardtop for 5 years. It is now time to part ways with it, to help pay for further education for my son. This was a one-owner vehicle originally placed into service in the small, rural town of Hebron, Nebraska. One of the reasons I purchased this car was its originality – original interior, original drive train, mostly original paint, original build sheet, original owners’ manual, even the original trunk liner (still there and in good shape). The car was extremely straight, save for a few dings on the stainless trim. The vehicle has the following features/options: 390 CI Engine Merc-O-Matic transmission Air conditioning Power steering Power brakes Radio Padded visors Padded dash The Merc runs great, doesn't overheat, leak anything or burn oil. It gets stares everywhere it goes. Since I’ve owned it, I’ve had replaced or rebuilt: Brake shoes Carburetor Water pump Fuel tank and fuel line Spark plugs/wires Rear bumper (rechromed) Tail lights Battery Because of gravel rash (not rust) on the bottom of the quarter panels, I had the car repainted - its first and only. The condition is as follows: Body – excellent, rust free Paint – excellent Glass - excellent Trim – very good/excellent Drive train – excellent – no leaks Interior – excellent Carpet – good – a little worn Dash pad – excellent – no cracks, no warping, not sun-rotted Seats – excellent – no rips (minor spot under left seat belt) Headliner – excellent (one small spot taped (pictured)) Disclosure: The radio works well. The air conditioner does not blow cold air – I have not had it diagnosed. The fuel gauge doesn’t work – possibly a fuel sending unit. Inside clock has recently stopped working. Right front fender had been previously replaced. The brakes are hard – may need a new brake booster – if not for this, and the fact that the tires are starting to get old, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across the country. NADA’s definition of “average retail value” is as follows: "This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer"." This car is better than the definition stated above. Because of the few minor items mentioned, I have the vehicle’s modest reserve price set considerably below the NADA average retail value. Please check out my feedback and bid with confidence. I will only sell to buyers in the 48 continental United States. A $500 nonrefundable deposit via Paypal is due within 3 days after the auction closes, the remainder due before the vehicle is shipped. Buyer will arrange shipping within 14 days of auction close. Please call John at 402-630-3478 with questions, and good luck!
