1987 Toyota MR2 85,446 original miles. my mother ordered this car new from toyota in Colorado Springs, CO the car is Silver with brown cloth interior. 5 speed manual and T-Tops car was ordered with every option. the car was serviced regularly at toyota in Colorado Springs and then at a local service station when we moved to michigan. was always stored winters. my mother passed away and i received the car as part of her estate i drove the car for about a year during this time i replaced all four tires and the alternator. that same year while i was driving it the connecting rod within the engine broke in half and lodged it self against the block, the car was no longer drivable and i bought a toyota supra. I planned to repair the engine upon removing the engine and trans i found that the pistons were in good shape and the only thing that need to be replaced was the connecting rod and maybe the crank might have got stress cracks or have been bent. because i owned a supra i had no desire to fix the MR2 and my uncle said he wanted to fix it i guess mostly for sentimental value. after having it for a while he said do to his bad knee he would want to drive it and his wife got a new car and had no desire to drive it. since then it has sat out side for about 3 years.
