Since I was born, my family has enjoyed and indulged in the power of GM Sports Cars. So, the moment I saw this car, I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to keep this car just because I want it, so I am sadly selling this car. For those of you who know, know how rare this car is. 1998 was the first year of this platform. Formula Firebirds are very rare as most buyers opted for the WS6 options when purchasing them new. Since Formula editions were purchased by enthusiasts, most are 6 speeds, so this Automatic transmission is super rare. Black, is hands down the most preferred color for this car by collectors. Low Miles, this car offers only 132k miles. Affordablility! This car may not be show quality as it sits today, but watch the value sky rocket as it become a true antique. 1 of less than 300 Built. I researched the Year, Model and Color of this car and I estimate that there were approximately 150 or less cars like this one built in 1998. I say less than 300 because that is what I found as a maximum number based on Year and Model. When in fact the percentage of Black cars produced, I can estimate 1 of Less than 150. (That is a statistical average). We have had this car serviced and state inspected. Initially, I was going to keep this car so we had the usual inspection and a full pre sale inspection performed. New brakes and rotors, front and rear, and all fluids checked and topped off, and a window switch repaired. New tires finish off this car and it is ready to ride! Almost 3 years ago she had a child and started driving a minivan. Since then, this Formula has been basically stored under cover and driven rarely. That is why it looks so good and has such low miles. She did not really want to get rid of the car, but her father told her enough was enough and if she was not going to drive it more often then it was time to move on. So, when we go this car, we took it in for State inspection and all it needed was new brakes to pass. So, we had new brakes installed and this car is ready to ride. We have found everything on this car to work just as it should! Interior: A Formula Firebird was built for speed and performance. It has all the features and upgrades you expect from a very comfortable and modern car, without the car becoming too heavy and bulky to perform as you would want. This Formula has T Tops with the original T Top Covers. The Glass panels easily and quickly remove for an open air appeal. When you take the tops out, there are slots in the back that the tops store in and keep them from getting damaged. Having the covers with this car, in undamaged condition, is very important. Having had several of these cars for my self over the years, I know how rare and valuable these covers are. The Interior of this Firebird is Great! It Features all the Upgrades you Expect. Beautiful Sport Cloth Interior, Power Options, Aftermarket CD Player, T Tops with Covers, and More Make this Formula a Great Car! This is a 4 passenger sport coupe. The front seats are High Back Individual Captain Seats with Multi Point Power Adjustments for the driver and multi point adjustments for the passenger. The front seats flip forward for surprisingly easy entry into the rear seat. The rear will seat 2 riders. The rear seats are individual buckets. There are two cup holders on the back of the center console, too. The Seats are in Good Condition. I would say they are in better condition than what I would expect for a car of this year with T-Tops. Usually, years of leaving a top open will create more wear on the interior than what this car shows. The carpets and floor mats are matching gray color. In between the Front Seats is a Center Console. Here you will find the Automatic Gear Shifter. There is a cup holder and a deep, large storage area under the arm rest. This storage area has molded sections for cassette tapes, cds and change. There is a large glove box with original owner’s manual. Storage continues with door pockets on each door. The controls for the power windows are located on each too. This car does not come with a key fob but from what I understand you can easily add one. If you look in the picture above, there is a small piece of interior trim missing. This is barely noticeable and appears to cover the screws that hold the exterior mirror. I want to mention because it is not obvious. This Formula has an aftermarket CD Radio. This radio has a concealed face to help reduce theft. There is Ice Cold AC in this car. When we had it inspected, they serviced the ac system so it is ready to go! The overall look of this Firebird is true Americano. The look of the interior is intention and sporty. Exterior: The Exterior of this Pontiac Very Nice! The Black Paint is shiny and glossy, the top is brand new, and the alloy wheels look beautiful. The overall color combination and stance of this BMW looks Fantastic! The Stance of this Sports Coupe is just Beautiful. The elongated front end is iconic of the Hot Rod Image. The Black Color is probably the best looking option for this car, in my opinion. This Formula is riding on a Set of Beautiful Alloy Rims. The tires are brand new and have years of life left and just passed VA State Safety Inspection without issue. The rear of this Pontiac looks as good as the front. The trunk has cool looking curve and spoiler in it that add to the overall appeal, front to back. T Tops: This Pontiac comes with T Tops complete with Covers. The T Tops do not leak and are quiet on the road. The tops remove and install very easily. That is one thing I really like about this style car. I am petite, only 5’ tall, so anything heavy or bulky is very difficult for me. This tops are so easy for me take in and out by myself. This is a huge plus over like a removable corvette top because I could never handle single panel by myself. An easy to use latch holds the tops in place, both while in the top and while stored in the trunk. The pictures of this car really speak for itself. I would keep this car in a second. You won’t find any door dings or any significant scratches on the outside is much better than I would expect for the year and miles. Driving Impressions: This Pontiac drives AWESOME. It handles GREAT! The Engine is Strong, The Transmission Shifts Beautifully, and Everything Works Perfectly! There is nothing our repair shop can recommend as a needed repaired or fixed. This Pontiac Delivers the Ride, Handling, and Quality you expect from a Comfortable Hot Rod! It is not just a great car to drive, it is also a great car to look at. A perfect rendition of a classic sport appeal, this Formula will always be a Discrete Head Turner, and a Highly Desirable Car! We fight over driving this car. We make up excuses to drive this fun and beautiful car. All aspects of driving this Pontiac seem spot on and perfect. The Transmission Shifts Perfectly, The Engine is Strong and Never Lets you down, The AC is Ice Cold, The Cruise Control Works, The Power Windows Work, The Alignment is Straight, and Overall this is a Great Driving Car! I would comfortably drive this car anywhere. Under The Hood: This Pontiac Formula Firebird Features the Corvette LS1 Engine. This Engine is a Performance Beast! Stock, this engine produces 310 HP at 5,200 rpm. The torqu is 340 lbs ft at 4,000 rpm. And with a few, very inexpensive and easy to do modifications, this car can be pushing 400 horsepower. Compare these specs to a Mustang GT and the Formula blows it out of the water! Plus, this car runs on recommended Regular Grade Gas! That is a rare treat in a performance car. And, it gets 18-26 miles per gallon which again, is great for this type of car! Carfax: The Carfax on this car has some errors. It shows an accident with airbag deployment then shows the airbags were not deployed on the next line. I have been assured that the airbags did not deploy on this car. I do not seen indication that the airbags were deployed on this car. So, I do think this carfax is in error. This is a 2 Owner Car. .
