I own seven show quality early Mustangs and have restored them as a hobby for over twenty years. I know them like the palm of my hand. Finding a quality rust free candidate is harder and harder to do. I met the gentleman I purchased this car from in central Florida 15 years ago and have kept in touch with him ever since. He is now 89 years young. We met when my father had a 641/2 convertible the competed with his 64 1/2 convertible on the Florida car show circuit. He always had a good eye for cars. I saw him last March and purchased this car that he had just got from the original owner. Car had 62,000 original miles and had very little every done to it. He knew that I would like something unmolested like this and did not take long to make a deal. This was a 100% correct 65 Mustang convertible VIN 5F08C377509. Since that car was returned to Wisconsin I professionally repainted it with base coat clearcoat ( I sell paint for a living) Original early color poppy red is a real eye catcher. Did not use more that one pint of paint to paint whole car that is how nice original paint was. All original sheet metal never touched with a welder. Check out the pictures how nice the underside of car is. You won't find them like this!!!Car has original new Ford bumpers that he must have put on. Convertible top is brand new and perfect. Interior for white is unbelievable. We replaced both front buckets, the seam was split on the driver seat, wanted them both to match. Carpet was redyed was just faded, just like new. Instrument bezel is new dash pad had small split, we replaced it. Chrome inside and out almost all new. What was not replaced hockey sticks they are too nice. Everything works radio, heater, air conditioning, power top. All mechanical was checked out. Brakes are fairly new and motor compression tested good. Engine is clean and painted. Valve covers and air cleaner repainted. Very nice for a daily driver and nice enough to win at car shows. Tires and brand new and correct wire wheel covers. This car is ready to be driven anywhere. Since beginning of summer I have drive this car almost 3,000 miles. Again check out the pictures of the underside and trunk. Beautiful you won't be disappointed whoever ends up with this beauty.
