Please read this information very carefully! I purchased this Volvo for my daughter in December 2009 from the original family owner. Father purchased car new in 1993 and eventually sold to his son a number of years later. The car was meticulously maintained by the family and I have every single record since the cars initial purchase. Anything and everything that was needed was immediately done by either the dealer or a qualified Volvo mechanic. When I purchased the car this also included every single documented oil change (every 3K) and gas fill up! Unfortunately, over the last month the upshift light on the transmission began blinking and the transmission went into limp mode, (starting in 3rd gear). After evaluation, I changed the PNP switch which temporarily corrected the problem. Within a few days the transmission started to slip. At this point I took to my Volvo mechanic to verify I replaced PNP correctly, which I did, and he said the transmission was probably in need of replacement. Currently the upshift light is blinking again, and the transmission slips at times. With that said, the car is being sold AS IS, and unless you live in the immediate area, this car will need to be TRAILERED HOME. Car is relisted with NO RESERVE. The rest of the car is fabulous for a 1993. There is not a speck of rust anywhere, never in an accident, and the engine is like brand new. I replaced all brakes and rotors, and they do squeal a bit at times, but they work great. All power features work fine including AC and power moon roof. Interior is in great shape, but drivers side seat does have some rips from wear, and the air bag cover on passenger side is a bit curled, very common for this year, but this does not effect operation of bag. Tires are also very good, but please note that one rim was either damaged or stolen long ago and replaced with a standard rim and Volvo hub cap. So not an exact match but still looks good. The headliner was sagging, so I removed, sanded and sprayed interior roof with matching color. I didn't want to go through the hassle of installing a new headliner, and it looks just fine. The trunk and engine bay are very clean. As I said, I have every receipt since day one, and most stuff has been replaced over the years, but if you have questions, please ask me BEFORE bidding. As an FYI, the timing belt was done at 108K. My daughter caused some minor damage to the right headlight, corner of the hood and cornering light. I replaced all the lights and ordered factory replacement paint and repaired and sprayed the corner of the hood. Came out good. Have left over paint I will include. As you can see from the pictures, this is a great car, and I’m totally bummed that I have to sell it, but I don’t have the time, or equipment necessary to swap out a transmission. If you are so inclined to do so, and can get your hands on a used one, you will have a fantastic used car that is safe for a small amount of money. Prior to the transmission issues, this car ran beautifully, and looked good too. If you purchase this car I will require full payment by CERTIFIED BANK CHECK only and pick up within 7 days.
